Position Overview
Bospar is looking for a Vice President with strong B2B
communications chops! The ideal candidate can drive strategic
initiatives across 8-10 B2B tech accounts and teams, advising
clients and teammates on how to deliver exceptional results.
Primary Responsibilities
- Account Strategy and Management:
- Deliver strategic client counsel, developing and delivering
innovative, insightful and integrated solutions in alignment with
clients' business goals
- Oversee day-to-day direction of client teams, ensuring
high-caliber execution across the board
- Stay up to date on client-specific media and industry
developments to deliver informed, thoughtful recommendations
- Allocate hours for account teams on a monthly basis, encourage
teams to maintain accurate reporting in Harvest, and monitor
"actuals" to ensure a balance between client service and
profitability
- With Account Directors, establish client- and team-appropriate
roles and responsibilities
- Client Relations:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for strategic initiatives,
crisis counsel, etc.
- Lead strategy sessions, performance audits and difficult
conversations
- Ensure teams anticipate client needs and respond to client
requests in a thoughtful, timely manner
- Media Relations:
- Oversee development of proactive, data-driven media
strategies
- Ensure outbound pitches demonstrate industry expertise and
creative thinking
- Stay abreast of newsjacking opportunities and drive team
response
- Support pitching initiatives as needed, focusing on top-tier
broadcast, print and digital targets
- Mentorship and Management:
- Coach and develop teams and individuals, empowering teams to
achieve their full potential in a positive and supportive
environment
- Directly manage 4-5 Bospartans - deliver regular, actionable
feedback and lead performance reviews
- Resolve individual/team issues promptly and fairly, with
support from senior leadership and/or HR as appropriate
- Business Development:
- Assist with business planning for the practice area, outlining
budgets, pursuing potential clients and identifying staffing
needs
- Lead new business proposals, including development, team
coordination and presentation
- Develop and maintain an active network of business
contacts
- Reporting:
- Ensure development of monthly/quarterly reports
- Maintain accurate reporting in Harvest
- Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in public relations, including 8+ years
of agency experience
- Demonstrated expertise driving impactful results for
organizations in the B2B Tech sectors
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing,
English or related field
- Sharp business and PR acumen to quickly determine short- and
long-term priorities for self and junior team members
- Excellent communication and client relations skills (oral and
written)
- Strategic thinker with the initiative to lead programs from
start to finish
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, can juggle multiple
assignments and changing priorities
- Positive, energizing manager and mentor who inspires teams to
excel
- Strong professional development experience
