Daily operations include researching projects, developing reports on materials and crew requirements, and analyzing potential projects' bidding processes. This position also requires employees to build effective relationships with sub-contractors and partners.Responsibilities Include:
--- Duct and piping take-off and pricing
--- Vendor and subcontractor pricing
--- Updating estimating software database items including labor rates and material costs
--- Coordinating bids with Project Engineers
--- Writing proposal letters
--- Filling out bid forms
--- Maintaining historical bid information database
--- Identifying value engineering options
--- Cost budgeting for design-build projects
--- Assisting with system selection options
--- Communicates with Operations and Project Managers regarding estimates and designs
--- Meets scheduled deadlines
--- Coordinates with drafting and detailing departments on drawings
--- Provides technical support to Project Managers and Project Engineers
--- Presenting estimate to company executives at bid review meetings
--- Negotiating pricing with subcontractors and vendors
--- Attending offsite job walks as scheduled by General ContractorsQualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
--- 5+ years experience estimating mechanical projects
--- Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical codes
--- Negotiating skills
--- Strategic thinking
--- Proficient on MS Office Suite
