As a Sr Capability Analyst/Product Owner, you'll design processes and project implementations and diagnose process improvement opportunities as you develop innovative solutions that will affect millions. In this role you will represent the voice of the business by performing research, design, and development, translating complex business requirements into actionable features, user stories and changes/updates to the Government Operations application suite. This is a cross-functional liaison role that reviews requirements and performance against expectations and coordinates/facilitates or influences changes to product to achieve optimal performance. You will work with internal and external business partners to recommend future direction, respond to inquiries, and ensure alignment to business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a Product Owner on a Scrum Team
  • Attends Project Meetings and Facilitates Project Meetings to collaborate with Business Stakeholders and End Users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into business requirements in the form of Capabilities and Features
  • Creates User Stories in the Gherkin Format and Maintains, Organizes, and Clearly describes them to the Development Team & Accepts those that meet Definition of Done (DoD)
  • Prioritizes and Orders the Scrum Team's backlog in the right manner so that the important tasks are given topmost priority
  • Ensures that the Scrum Team comprehends and implements User Stories in the Backlog that meet -Definition of Ready (DoR)
  • Evaluates the work done by the Development Team and Provides constant feedback
  • Participates in Agile Ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospection)
  • Liaisons with the Scrum Team and Business Stakeholders to deliver updates -
  • Participates in solution analysis and design meetings for system enhancements and/or implementations
  • Represents Our United Culture missions and values in all activities, demonstrating exemplary customer service with internal and external team members -


    While you're busy helping us change the landscape of health care, you've got to be able to quickly adapt to change in a fluid environment. It's all about quality reporting, analysis and audits and developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement. You'll also be challenged to gain buy-in from multiple stakeholders before presenting solutions to senior leadership You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
    • Experience Capturing Requirements as a Business Analyst/Product Owner or Writing Standard Operating Procedures/Job Aids in a Healthcare Claims Setting
    • Experience working on a project from Ideation to Post Deployment
    • Knowledge of the FACETS (frontend and backend)
    • Beginner/Intermediate Level of Query Writing
    • Medicaid and DSNP Claims Domain Expertise (SME)
    • Beginner/Intermediate Understanding of the Agile Methodology
    • Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)


      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree
      • CSPO Certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner)
      • Comfortable with working directly with Senior Level Business Stakeholders
      • Solid Interpersonal Skills
      • Superb Presentation, Writing, and Communication Skills
      • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities driven by State/CMS driven timelines

        California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $67,800 to $133,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
