  Job Description Summary:
  PayPal is seeking a passionate problem-solving senior Business Analyst to join our Payment Analytics team. This team supports the Merchant Payment Product team by delivering insights, developing hypotheses, designing experiments, and driving the implementation of new product features to help optimize the overall payment processing lifecycle.

  Core Responsibilities include:
  
  • Perform deep-dive analysis using analytical and statistical tools (primarily SQL and Python/R/SAS or similar) on very large, complex, multi-dimensional payments data
  • Partner with Braintree product and sales finance teams on all operational and analytical requests, establish ongoing Braintree transaction expense monitoring system to support business performance tracking and anomaly detection, and conduct in depth analysis into trend deviations
  • Generate actionable insights and recommendations and effectively communicate to senior stakeholders on product performance through pre-post analysis
  • Interface with cross-functional payment product teams to understand various stages of product lifecycle and influence product roadmap
  • Ensure rigorous quality control over data, analyses and metrics, and organizational clarity and alignment for key product performance metrics
    
    Job Requirements:
    
    • Bachelor's / Master's degree in quantitative area strongly preferred - including mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, economics or finance.
    • 8+ years' experience in data analytics, payments industry experience preferred
    • Highly analytical with an expertise in SQL/Python/R/SAS and BI software
    • Business acumen, ability to synthesize large quantities of data into clear conclusions/recommendation
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Self-starter proactive team player
    • Highly organized and work well in a fast-paced team environment with a good attention to details
