Job Purpose:

  • The Actuarial Analyst II role will be responsible for completing actuarial reserve and pricing analyses to develop actuarial recommendations for executive leadership. This role will work closely with actuarial leadership to execute appropriate pricing and product strategies to support organizational goals.
    Key Responsibilities:Responsible for in-depth actuarial analyses of data and trends to provide actuarial recommendations for reserves adequacy and book of business pricing:
  • Understand data sources, and pull, query and aggregate data for various projects based on need.
  • Data validation, creation of data reports for results analyses.
  • Provide and maintain actuarial data and tools used by key management decision-makers.
  • Researches and analyzes various types of data to produce rate adjustment proposals and reserve estimates.
  • Complete quarterly reserve analyses including data validation, trends analysis, state deviations, state loss performance, collaboration with Claims teams to better understand claim evaluations
  • Creates and evaluates quarterly rate level indications. Collaborate with Regional Product and Corporate Product departments on key findings and key selections.
  • - Share and discuss rate change proposals with Product & Field Operations partners. Ensure the use of sound pricing data and proper use of actuarial principles in rate change analyses.
  • Responsible for production and delivery of actuarial rate filing support.
  • Work with Product and IT divisions on appropriate deadlines.
  • Documents assumptions, methods, sources and considerations in an organized way.
  • Prepares actuarial briefings with the support of senior actuarial analysts and leadership.
  • Provide guidance and serve as a mentor to Actuarial Analyst I roles.
    QualificationsEducation:
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 3 actuarial exams.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree, with preference in a quantitative analytical field such as Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance and Economics.
    Experience:
  • Three or more years in relevant personal auto or Property/Casualty Insurance actuarial work experience
