  • Participates in the planning, design, build, and testing for Epic Beaker LIS implementation
  • Support, maintenance, and testing of clinical laboratory information systems (LIS) including databases, interfaces, and operational aspects of the laboratory
  • Performs advanced-level design, build, testing, validation, and implementation assignments/projects. Based on deep knowledge of laboratory application and operational requirements, can translate complex requirements/concepts into system specifications and configuration requirements
  • Initiates, facilitates, or leads meetings with laboratory operations end-users/business owners and other teams in the organization to ensure efficient workflow design, system build for customization, and optimization of the LIS. Interacts with system and support vendors as needed
  • Participates in optimization of laboratory operational work-flow processes with end-users/business owners
  • Provides high-level expertise in LIS design integration and touch points with other Epic modules and/or other applications
  • Attends and represents team on various Epic-related committees
  • Assists in developing project plans and details
  • Manage and coordinate the more sophisticated configuration and build assignments/projects in collaboration with others
  • Ensures the research and documentation of project requirements, test plans, testing, and validation is completed
  • Follow organization governance and change management workflows and requirements
  • Works with less structured, more complex issues
  • Serves as a resource to others Positions in this function include those who monitor and operate computer and peripheral equipment: review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for large-scale computer systems. Evaluate system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Provide expertise in software systems programming, operating software applications, consulting on complex projects/existing applications, timely completion of scheduled jobs, and overall operating systems. Also includes overseeing environments' health and facilitation of high severity incidents to improve the state of service availability and continuity. Develop processes and activities that focus on restoring service after an incident occurs. Document all hardware, application, facility, etc. problems and take corrective action as required. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed. Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training
    • Epic Certification - Beaker CP and AP -
    • 5+ years of experience in LIS application build
    • Experience with new Beaker implementations
    • Ability to participate in a on-call rotation Preferred Qualifications:
      • Epic Certification - Inpatient Order -
      • Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist experience/licensure -
      • Experience with non-Epic Laboratory Systems such as DI Instrument Manager, Safe Trace Tx Blood Bank, and Rapid COMM, RALS and Telcor QML point of care data management

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
