Job Title: Lead Carpenter (Home Remodeling) Next Stage Design + Build is an established, nationally recognized, award winning remodeling company seeking an assistant laborer/ helper to join our winning team in the South Bay Area. We're an award winning Company that provides design and remodeling services to clients in Santa Clara and San Mateo Countie. We need an additional talented teammate to meet the demand for our services. We're looking for an energetic player in this position who can effectively be the lead on key remodeling projects and is open to greater responsibility as the company grows. Working directly for the project managers, you'll be the key construction resource multiple jobs involving, kitchen, bath, and general remodeling, along with some occasional repair work in residential homes. SUMMARY Perform all around carpentry, maintenance, and repair work in residential homes by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -- Performs remodeling and repair work that includes, but not limited to rough and finish carpentry, painting, drywall repair, miscellaneous electrical work, minor plumbing repairs, basement and attic work, insulation work, roof repair, railing and fence work, door & window repairs and replacement, siding work, and minor concrete & masonry work. -- Use and Maintain Company provide hardware such as phones, computers and I-Pads. Learn to use on a daily basis all scheduling and job related software. -- Examine job packet's to ensure understanding of project's scope and budget. -- Reviews BuilderTrend job plans, schedules, and material list as required. Coordinates delivery of to job site all non-special ordered material if needed. Verify the delivery and good condition of all special ordered materials as needed. -- Attends initial walk-through with designer, sales person, PM, and client. -- Collects all payments from client and delivers to office as needed. -- Maintain a neat and safe work-site at the clients property. -- Keeps proper paperwork on working hours and material purchases. -- Maintain a Personal vehicle in safe and clean condition. Vehicle is to have a company magnetic sign and is to be equipped to tow a large dump trailer. -- Oversees sub-contractors working on the job as needed alongside PM. -- Removes debris from job-site and coordinates with office for trash pick-up from job site when needed. -- Maintain daily client communication / relationship while on the job, including dealing with client expectations, reporting the job's progress, and informing the client of any necessary changes to scope of project. -- Informs the office of any change orders on the job. -- Conducts final walk-through with client and develops a punch-list of any items which are not completed. -- Contacts the office or PM daily to communicate job schedule and status. -- Attend weekly production meetings as scheduled. -- Works from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and overtime as needed. -- Maintains a professional appearance wearing the Case company uniform at all times and professional behavior while representing the company. Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction as evidenced by: Anecdotal feedback from individual clients Quarterly evaluations Project manager feedback Overall customer satisfaction scores from Guild Quality QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction contracts, agreements, blue prints, procedure manuals and estimates. Ability to respond to common inquiries, issues of concern/complaints from clients, co-workers, suppliers or subcontractors. Ability to present information, communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, subcontractors and general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Have the ability to calculate figures and costs such as proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry to determine dimensions and material needed. REASONING ABILITY Have the ability to solve practical problems and challenges where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to successfully communicate those solutions to the client and fellow workers We offer competitive pay depending on your skills and experience.
