For more information on programs available, please visit http://www.sjsu.edu/up/all/benefits/ Working HoursThis position is part-time, Monday through Thursday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Friday 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Must be available mornings during initial training and to take required system classes offered in the morning. About the PositionUnder general supervision, the Department Coordinator is responsible for the overall administrative operation of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, and will act as lead to student workers. This position serves as a resource for the faculty, staff and students, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and special projects. In addition, the position is responsible for maintaining, reconciling, and monitoring the department budget, expenses, funds and grants. Other duties include but are not limited to: Assists in the scheduling of courses, tracking enrollment, assigning classrooms, completing documentation required for the faculty workload process, oversight of the administrative tasks for faculty recruitment and the retention, tenure and promotion processes, coordinates department events, updates department website and handles confidential information for faculty and students. Must be available mornings during initial training and to take required system classes offered in the morning. This position is part-time Monday through Thursday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Friday 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Minimum Qualifications- Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents - Three years of related office work experience Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree - Administrative experience working an office with complex and diverse tasks similar to those in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in the College of Social Sciences - Experience maintaining, analyzing and projecting enrollment and annual budgets based on past and present data - Experience working with course scheduling, faculty appointments, recruitment's, and other UP procedures - Experience with University policies and procedures specifically dealing with Procurement Services, Accounts Payable, FD&O, Admissions and Records, and Tower/Research/Foundation - Experience with Excel, PeopleSoft, CMS, FTS, CFS, Interfolio, DocuSign, InDesign and Google Suite - Excellent written communication skills Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Ability to update the department website - Ability to occasionally work weekends - Ability to work in an academic setting - Ability to train student assistants to assure their understanding of work assignments and leverage office priorities Posting DateApril 29, 2019 Application ScreeningApplication Screening begins May 14, 2019.
