Job Description:

The Coordinator of Special Programs performs duties under limited supervision of the Associate Registrar to coordinate special programs to achieve specific outcomes towards student success. This position is responsible for coordinating all tasks and processes related to the application and record of transitory students such as Intra-system programs, Study Abroad (such as the faculty-led, ISEP, CSUIP, and bilateral programs), Step-to-College/Unitrack, and faculty and job-related staff fee waiver. In addition, this position is responsible for the evaluation and processing of all residency requests from continuing students and all AB 540 requests. This position works collaboratively with other offices on campus including International Student & Scholar Services, Graduate and Undergraduate Studies Programs, Academic Advising & Retention Services, Admission Evaluators (both graduate and undergraduate), and all seven College Success Centers. This position maintains a high level of knowledge of CSU and SJSU requirements, processes, and regulations to facilitate the students in these programs. The Coordinator of Special Programs will maintain accurate and transparent documentation of the communication process and work flow in order to maintain levels of productivity, quality of service for prospective students, and quantity of information relative to the registration process. This position utilizes benchmarking approaches with other CSU institutions in researching best business practices for process improvement. The Coordinator of Special Programs makes appropriate recommendations to the Associate Registrar of ways and means to improve the coordination and processing tasks in programs assigned to this position.
