requirements. - Job SummaryThe General Foreman - Large Job, is a
working foreman responsible for providing field supervision over
crews involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of
underground electric distribution conduits and sub-structures. This
role will work closely with Project Managers and Field crews to
ensure work is executed in a safe, high-quality, and timely manner.
Job site visits will be required with the continuous development of
crews in mind. Meeting customers' and clients' expectations will
play a very important role in this position. The Foreman serves as
the front-line Safety Officer for the site/project and is directly
responsible for the Safety of his/her crew. -Compensation &
Benefits:The pay range for -General Foreman, Large Job -based in
the -San Jose -area is $70.80 -per hour. This position's weekly
work hours average from 40-55 hours per week. - -Anytime worked
over 8 hours and/or on Saturday or Sunday is paid at double time.In
addition to the hourly rate, this role will receive $100 - $150 per
day for subsistence.Benefits:

- Annual IncreaseDuties and Responsibilities.
- Coordinate daily tasks according to
priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather,
supply, delivery, and personnel.Delegate individual
responsibilities and projects to crew members, Foreman, and
sub-contractors.Partner with necessary departments to recruit,
hire, train/mentor and manage employees.Plan and provide adequate
resources and staffing to meet schedules, laws, regulations, best
practices, and safety needs.Partner with Project Management to
ensure projects are on time and on budget and make adjustments as
needed by developing and managing project budgets and quality
standards for all sites.Communicate with job Foreman, client, and
PM department to coordinate project status, project scheduling, and
changes that need to be made. Review daily timecards to ensure
there are no errors and make corrections. Provide on-site field
training, coaching, and mentoring to crew members and participate
when necessary. Issue disciplinary action notices, and counseling
notices and coordinate one-to-one meetings with employees. Visit
job sites daily to complete pre-fielding tasks (USA tickets, check
dependencies), job walks, observations, and on-site supervision for
crews. Report safety incidents and partner with the Safety & Health
department on incident investigations. Conduct daily safety
meetings and participate in other meetings throughout the week
(such as Foreman call, Level 10 management meeting, etc.)Ensure
crews and job sites are up to safety standards to minimize hazards
to crew members, employees, sub-contractors, and the public.
Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while
providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
- Plan and execute decision-making around equipment, materials,
manpower, time, and subcontractors.Perform other job-related duties

notice.Qualifications and Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a concise,
professional, and timely manner.Knowledge and understanding of how
to read and interpret general and subcontract documents, redline
drawings/plans and specifications, as well as construction means,
methods, and materials.Ability to build strong, positive working
relationships and solve conflict when necessary with customers and
all levels of employment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving
skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to be able to
effectively delegate tasks to reporting managers, subcontractors,
construction workers, and potential new clients.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and take initiative.
- Knowledge of underground, dry, and wet utilities. -
- Familiarity with Government Code Section 4216 and OSHA
standards and regulations
- Required: Successful candidates must pass the following
pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: drug
screen and background check. Background checks include, but are not
limited to, Social Security Verification, Prior Employment
Verification, Motor Vehicle Records, Personal and Professional
References, and Criminal History.Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of underground civil project experience.
- Preferred: Experience and knowledge as a General Foreman
- PG&E Electrical Distribution Experience.
- Experiencing managing large crews with up to 10+
employees.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience managing multiple crews for
large underground Public Works contracts. -
- First Aid/CPR Certified.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent -Physical
