Role

The US Public Sector Business Solutions Architect will drive structuring the US PS Theatre in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information. This person will report into US PS Market Transformation and Operations within the US Public Sector Sales Organization. This person will architect business solutions that aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services, contracts and products, organization and capabilities and key business, sales and IT initiatives. The primary focus is the business motivations, business operations and business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The Business Architect will work to develop an integrated view of the US Public sector process, systems, org and data landscape using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.

Who You Are

You are an exceptional technical leader ideally with in-depth knowledge of Contracts Life Cycle Mgmt., Sales Operations, Order Mgmt. processes and systems. You possess strong understanding of innovative technology solutions and approaches to enable complex business processes. You lead with agility to deliver with speed.

  • Business understanding of overall Sales, Operations, Order mgmt. Contract Lifecycle processes & compliance from a global perspective
  • 5+ years of combined implementation/development and management experience in Sales and Operations Business SaaS systems (Salesforce, CCW a plus), integrations, data engineering and custom applications using industry standard technologies at scale.
  • Contracts and Sales domain knowledge pertaining to contract life cycle management, compliance adherence & trainings along with corporate investigation and audit support.
  • Experience in data analytics, business intelligence and associated offerings like snowflake, Tableau, and underlying cloud platforms, preferably AWS would be useful.
  • Experience in leading large scale Contracts Mgmt., Sales Ops programs that support large scale digital and market transformation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State/Local buying cycles, regulatory requirements, contract terms and conditions are a plus.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
  • The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies
  • The ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions
  • The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues
  • Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
  • The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
  • Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • The ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business, business processes and workflow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery
  • Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities

    Responsibilities

    --- Develop a business architecture strategy based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios changing market and regulatory requirements.

    --- Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise.

    --- Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.

    --- Describe the primary business functions of the enterprise

    --- Define the set of strategic, core and support processes that transcend functional and organizational boundaries; identify and describe external entities such as customers, suppliers, and external systems that interact with the business; and describe which people, resources and controls are involved in the processes.

    --- Define the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data.

    --- Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities and business units, and sub-units, and the internal or external management of those units.

    --- Develop data supported recommendations to develop, operate and manage a business architecture meeting the requirements

    When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location.     U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO.     Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
