Duration: 12 months
Location : San Jose, CA
Payrate : $30- $40/hr on W2

Part time position requiring 2 days a week.

Description/Comment:
We are looking for a skilled chemist to join our reagent manufacturing team. You will be joining a team that manufactures complex reagent sets for precise analysis of biomolecules. This requires problem solving skills, teamwork, time management, and a commitment to excellence in performing hands-on chemistry. This is a wet lab operation so skill using lab equipment and materials along with exceptional attention to detail to meet our quality standards is expected. Responsibilities: Drive continual improvement of DNA products through process development and design changes resulting in decreases in: Out of Box Quality (OBQ) defects, Manufacturing defects. Cost. Daily management of FLIPR production cell with respect to quality, on time delivery, inventory, and productivity. Drive consistent process controls across product lines using tools such as: 3P - Production Preparation Process. VRK - Variation reduction. SWK - Standard work. Problem identification, root cause analysis, and countermeasure development, verification and implementation. Disposition of non-conforming material. Generate and submit ECOs for manufacturing related changes. Be a back-up for other product lines such as IMAP, Catchpoint , FLIPR and BT. Qualifications) Required: BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent. Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus. Excellent verbal communication and writing skills. Ability to document and communicate technical details clearly. Ability to work in cross-functional teams as well as independently. Ability to adapt quickly to new projects and challenges. Creative thinker with excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to multi-task. Willing to work overtime as needed. Desirable: Experience with Lean manufacturing methods. Experience developing analytical methods for data collection and analysis

Additional Job Details:
Part time position requiring 2 days a week. Flexible on which days but must be communicated in advance to the Hiring Team. Ideal candidate will also be flexible on when the Client needs them as the workload will change week to week.
