Sr. to Lead Software Engineer - Networking / SDN Company in Hypergrowth (many openings from Sr. to Lead level) San Jose, CA (you can work from home up to 2x/week) The company is founded and led by former senior executives from leading networking companies. It has raised a very large round of funding from top tier investors, has about 450 employees, and is growing very rapidly. The companys product involves Software Defined Networking. The company is hiring many Engineers for a variety of specialties from Sr. to Lead to Distinguished Engineer level. So if you have been doing any type of engineering in the networking space, you are encouraged to apply regardless of your specific skillset. The company will pay very competitive salary plus equity which could be valuable. Job Responsibilities: - Taking ownership of large software components - Designing and developing various modules for the companys products - Working with product management on customer requirements - Utilizing your programming skills for efficient and robust implementation Qualifications: - Strong problem solving skills - Minimum 3 Years of development experience in the networking space - Expertise in programming in either C or Python Nice to have: - Good understanding and experience of networking protocols and various L2 to L7 technologies. - Experience in SW development in a large and complex system, such as a router/switch - Experience with SDN / Software Defined Networking - Understanding of NFV/SDN, or cloud technologies, Linux containers - Experience with Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes - Experience with Security - Knowledge of IP Networking - DPDK - Understanding of packet processing algorithms; packet forwarding - Ethernet / LTE / Wifi / SR-IOV / virtio / vmxnet3 interfaces, NAT, IPSEC VPNs, TCP/IP, L4-7 - Knowledge of Linux kernel - Experience in segment routing and MPLS signaling protocols - Understanding of SNMP (v2c,v3) Traps and MIBs - Experience with Event Streaming Frameworks such as Confluent Kafka - Knowledge of security standards such as OAuth2, Open ID, etc About Skyrocket Ventures Skyrocket Ventures is a recruiting firm for hundreds of high growth technology companies that range from industry leaders to top-tier startups.
