Description:
The Material Handler III is responsible for providing support for
all activities in receiving, production issues and managing inbound
receipts, packing, and shipping. Ensures that inventory accuracy is
sustained throughout daily activities. Will be required to
demonstrate a positive attitude, be self-driven, and be an engaged
team member.This position will require specialized experience
and/or proficiency and may be called upon to lead projects. Works
independently within established procedures associated with the
specific job function. Gains or has attained full proficiency in
multiple competencies relevant to the job. The job responsibilities
will include but are not limited to:
- Guarantee part orders, including inventory allocation
maintenance, paperwork printing, parts receiving, parts pulling,
parts packaging, and parts releasing
- Facilitate order pulls for production including identifying
parts, accurately pull parts, label parts per procedure and deliver
parts to production or other designated areas
- Ensures sales orders are completed in a timely manner: pick
product, allocate product, ship product accurately and efficiently,
QA all shipments
- Ensures process receipts and inventory put aways: responsible
for receiving incoming materials, parts, packages from various
vendors and means of delivery. Unpacks, examines, and routes
incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and
corresponds with shipper or supplier to rectify damages and
shortages
- Manage inventory control including part number identification,
transactions, and organizations (unplanned issues and receipts as
needed, transferring of product as needed and cycle count and
recount for accuracy).
- Lead the annual physical inventory count team as assigned.
- Demonstrate ability to work on assignments that are complex in
nature where considerable judgement and initiative are required in
resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Demonstrate ability to handle parts with or without material
handling equipment requiring safety and delicate handling
procedures.
- Maintains documentation to reflect effectiveness and efficiency
of department activities and training
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the
efficient operation of the function
- Responsible for training staff to company procedures and
standards, and all receiving functions, shipping functions,
inventory management functions, etc.
- Must work with production team to coordinate availability of
orders/products
- Forklift operations. Will provide training if necessary
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work
environment
- Completes all training requirements and operate within all ISO
standards pertaining to site including, but not limited to, control
of documents and quality policy
- Complies with all warehouse safety procedures and suggests
improvements to procedures to save time and/or to reduce costs
- Work required overtime based on business needs
- Perform all other duties assigned
Requirements:
- Requires at least 3-5 years of directly related experience
- Requires 2 years of specialized training or certification
related to the role
- Willingness to be flexible to move to different parts of the
material environment or organization to assist areas in need of
additional resources
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of co-works, assist
in training of other members and promote a strong team effort to
ensure timely and efficient completion of customer
requirements.
- Proactively identify methods and procedures for improving
productivity, be a team player, and be able to provide guidance and
training to other associates.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists.
- Strong computer and communication skills, proficient in
Microsoft Office (Excel), SAP/ERP systems, WMS systems,
- Packaging experience preferred with experience in FEDEX, UPS,
DHL, International Shipments, and commercial invoices
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet
deadlinesPhysical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to manipulate
objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms while taking
and hearing
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance of others
