We strive to cultivate a representative team of teachers and leaders that reflect our students' diversity.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching
    • Teach two sections of content specialty.
    • Consistently utilize instructional priorities as a model for other teachers on campus.
    • Address student behavior in and out of the classroom by enforcing expectations for behavior
      • Model and support implementation of the school's vision and goals
        • Support development of School Leader's school-wide vision and takes an active role in investing and mobilizing teachers to achieve the collective goals of the school
          • Contribute to school-wide planning and prioritizes time to accomplish goals
            • Provides input into the school-based strategic planning including and identifies what the school's strategic plan means for his/her own leadership and people that he/she manages
              • Model strong staff and student culture and reinforce school-wide character development and behavior management systems
                • Collaborate with School Leader on hiring diverse, highly-effective teachers and school staff
                  • Manager Responsibilities - Instruction & Staff Culture
                    • Manage two grade level chairs in areas grade level related
                    • Build own and direct reports' knowledge of restorative practices, culture, and Research-based Practices (Methods and Time)
                    • Develop teachers to provide rigorous and high quality classroom instruction
                      • Data Analysis (Data-driven Instruction and Progress Monitoring)
                      • Teacher Classroom Culture Development
                      • Communicate sick and personal days to Principal and coordinate coverage for direct reports by school staff when needed (if substitute teacher is not available)
                      • Serve as a point of contact for direct reports for any issues or concerns
                      • Hold direct reports accountable to performance expectations and follow through with school protocol and procedures.Role Specific Responsibilities:
                        • Plan and facilitate bi-weekly meetings with grade level chairs
                        • Facilitate Restorative Attendance meetings
                        • Co-lead/co-facilitate Equity initiative
                        • Provide all staff PD on Culture priority/Restorative Practices (summer and up to four PDs during the year)
                        • Monitor and share out discipline data with staff on a quarterly basis
                        • Organize triannual Academic Restorative Conferences and provide training for new facilitators of Academic Restorative Conversations (ARCs).
                        • Organize and assign facilitation of Restorative Conferences as needed
                        • Send out monthly grade reports to families of students failing two or more classes
                        • Provide summer training to incoming Grade Level Chairs
                        • Update Staff Policies & Procedures for following year (June)
                        • Share discipline responsibilities with admin (on call schedule)
                        • Provide supervision during daily morning and lunch time
                        • Provide supervision at athletic contests over the course of the year (number TBD).Additional Responsibilities
                          • Participate in weekly Leadership Team meetings
                          • Additional responsibilities as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
                            • Minimum 3 years of full time teaching experience
                            • Bachelor's degree (required)
                            • A valid teaching credential in California or a transferable credential from another state.
                            • Belief that all students, regardless of background, have the ability to go to and through college
                            • Ability to set direction for a team and motivate others to action
                            • Demonstrated student achievement results in own classroom and from teachers that he/she manages
                            • Adept at data analysis; ability to extract meaningful insights across school-wide data
                            • Expertise in what academic standards and state assessments require of students' knowledge and skills to demonstrate mastery; able to translate student mastery requirements into instructional plans and strategies
                            • Deep understanding of appropriate application and differentiation of high-leverage instructional strategies (e.g. make kids sweat, pacing, stretch it, etc.)
                            • Strong judgment and stakeholder engagement
                            • Demonstrated resilience and achievement orientation
                            • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Google classroom, Hangouts, Docs, Sheets, Slides,. etc.)
                            • Ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning (i.e. Zoom, Nearpod, etc)
