This is a position that is offering the opportunity to grow a program that consists of small groups working together on functional life skills while building their social skills at the same time. This program is in its infancy and has the potential to quickly with the right person in place.

We teach functional life skills to adults with disabilities in a group setting consisting of three clients to one coach.

MINIMAL EXPERIENCE IS DESIRED, BUT WILLING TO TRAIN THOSE THAT HAVE THE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR THIS POSITION.

    Job Description
    • In this position, you will be responsible for facilitating groups of one coach to three clients to regularly meet each week in a group setting to work towards a common goal.
    • You will be expected to create several groups working on various topics with groups meeting each weekday.
    • You will be expected to create a consistent schedule that is structured and teaches independent living skills to intellectually disabled adults with the goal of clients graduating from that group and moving on to another group that they are interested in.
    • You will be expected to grow the program with quarterly goals created by the executive team.
    • You will be required to help with the recruiting for the program you're overseeing as the program grows and more coaches are needed.
    • Must meet required monthly billable hours each month and retain current clients.
    • Must build a positive relationship with the local Regional Center, which is where all our clients are members and where our referrals come from.
    • Must have proficient writing skills and will be required to write quarterly progress reports for all clients in the program.
    • Will be responsible for doing all intakes, written assessments, and getting services approved for new clients coming into the program.
    • Collaborate with other ILS departments/branches to pair current one to one ILS members together that have similar interests for future groups

      Primary Responsibilities
      • Working with clients in a group, teaching them life skills that align with their ISP goals.
      • Providing support that occasionally may require responding during off-hours for any crisis involving clients in your groups.
      • Must meet monthly billable hours as required for each client.
      • Responsible for writing, reviewing, and scheduling clients' quarterly reviews.
      • May be required to work in the 1 to 1 ILS program within your branch location as needed.

        Must-haves:

        Proficient Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Required.

        Reliable transportation and a valid CDL and car insurance are mandatory. You will spend 90% of your day in the field meeting with clients. The other 10% will be administrative, which will involve writing reports, documentation, emails, etc.

        Must be proficient with the following skills: Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution, Interpersonal Skills, Time-Management, Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity, and Decision Making.

        Desired background:

        We are looking for experience and will train the right person with skills that can be applied to this position

        or

        2-years of experience working with the disabled community.

        or

        2-years of caregiver/direct care work experience.

        Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!

          Starting pay is $22/hour, plus mileage reimbursement.
