The Tech is seeking an organizational leader with proven
background in aligning and driving culture change in the
institution's people programs and day-to-day practices to join the
leadership team as the head of people, culture and belonging. The
ideal candidate will be innovative, collaborative, an experienced
mentor, a strategic business partner one minute, a program and
process manager the next, and ready to thrive in an environment

design challenge experiences empower people to innovate with

backgrounds.The RoleThis hands-on position reports directly to the
CEO and is responsible for strategy and for leading the
development, implementation and support of people programs in key
culture and engagement areas across the organization within the
available budgets. The position will oversee efforts that ensure
staff and volunteers experience a sense of belonging throughout the
total employment and volunteer experience and that training and
development efforts reflect this goal. -Current practices will be
evaluated in order to develop and recommend programs, processes and
policies that will be in support of the company's goals and values
with regard to our people resources. Direct focus and supervision
will include inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA),
performance management, professional development, training,
employee engagement and compensation strategy. This position will
also directly manage the Training and Employee Engagement Manager
and have oversight over operational HR functions.Key
Responsibilities -Advise CEO and leadership on issues related to
DEI, including providing perspectives on how decisions might impact
marginalized employees and overall culture. Provide coaching and
training to ensure all people managers rely on management practices
that reflect organization goals.Create and implement equitable,
people-focused initiatives and practices to ensure a positive
employee and volunteer experience. -Serve as a point of contact and
advisor for our internal IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity and
accessibility) team. Working with the IDEA team and other staff,
establish and support affinity groups when appropriate. -Develop
and implement new performance management approaches including
regular employee performance feedback and performance review
systems.Create and lead overall institutional professional growth
and career ladder initiatives. Supervise the Training and Employee
Engagement Manager in developing in-house training programs and
identifying outside partners to ensure success.Mentor the Training
and Engagement Manager to develop staff and volunteer engagement
including communication, programs and events in order to meet
organizational culture goals.Develop and implement processes that
create an avenue for regular assessments of the staff experience
and can track results and progress over time. Evaluate results and
provide guidance to leadership on success areas and areas that
create an opportunity for change.Evaluate and recommend equitable
compensation strategy that includes opportunities for job review at
either the manager's or employee's request. Oversee the Senior HR
Director who will implement approved strategies.Supervise the
Senior HR Director who will implement recruitment and retention
strategies designed to attract and retain our people resources with
an eye towards creating more diversity in both our workforce and
volunteer program.Oversee the employee relations team, particularly
around issues related to diversity and equity.Be knowledgeable of
the compliance requirements that are overseen by the Senior HR
Director that have an impact on programs, policies and procedures.
-Supervise the Training and Engagement Manager to define and
implement an institution-wide infusion program to engage staff in
areas of operation outside of their usual job duties and to support
the operation of The Interactive during times of higher than usual
attendance.Participate on a regular basis in our infusion program
which provides opportunities for all team members to have
experience on the floor of The Interactive. -Other duties as
assigned. This is a new position and job duties may evolve as new
areas of focus are identified and progress is made on current
goals.Key Qualifications10+ years progressive work experience in
the HR or related field with significant recent experience with DEI
work.Proven ability to foster change in an organization with
understanding and experience with developing best practices to
build an inclusive and engaged environment.Cultural understanding
and sensitivity with a lens towards racial, gender and generational
equity.Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to
deal with conflict effectively and to manage difficult situations
confidently and calmly and to coach people managers to do the
same.Creative and resourceful thinker with the ability to find
solutions thinking beyond the current systems and approaches.
Ability to recognize the impact of decisions and actions on the
entire organization.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills. Ability to partner with and influence a wide
range of stakeholders with varied communication styles.Strong
project management skills with the ability to plan and effectively
manage a wide variety of programs and projects.Working knowledge of
employment-related laws and regulations.Willingness to adhere to
The Interactive's offsite work policies and work on site as the
position requires.The Tech requires all candidates to pass a
