In this position, you will utilize state-of-the art hardware and software to conduct experimental research and drive product innovations. You will contribute to the development of applications in measuring and analyzing gases for various markets in industrial process monitoring, pharmaceutical, semi-conductor, and environmental research, using our patented Off-Axis ICOS technique.Reporting to the R&D PMO Manager, you will be responsible to coordinate, implement and document routine and non-routine integration and testing campaigns across multiple development projects to investigate and resolve critical product issues, optimize processes, and verify product compliance. You will work closely with scientific and senior engineering personnel in a support role. The work is closely managed, you will analyze and document test results for use in the development of new products, as well as defining the details, test sequences, testing methods and procedures, and equipment and instrumentation to be used.Your responsibilities

  • Experimental Preparation Work: Participation in the design of experimental procedures.
  • Responsible for experimental set-up and validation (gas sampling, sample conditioning & test analyzer).
  • Conduct Experiments: Closely monitor experiments as data is being collected.
  • Documentation / Record Keeping: Maintain records of all activities, suitable for later analysis.
  • Occasional travel may be required.Your background
    • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent qualifications (including certificate and/or long work experience) and 3 to 5 years as an engineer or senior technician with experience in assembling and testing of complex systems (opto-mechanical, electronics, software).
    • Understanding of the scientific method.
    • Proven track record of implementing troubleshooting methodologies as applied to metrology and scientific instrumentation in general.
    • Microsoft Office Suite proficient.
    • Gas phase trace gas analysis.
    • (Laser) Spectroscopy / Spectrometry.
    • Instrumentation of experimental setups including Data Acquisition Systems setup and programming.
    • Scientific data acquisition / analysis software package end-user expertise.
    • Military / aerospace electronics specialist background a plus.
