Under the general supervision of the Early Learning Program Manager, the Early Learning Clerk is responsible for ensuring all enrollment and eligibility requirements are met as well as the overall administrative maintenance and record keeping of all site and student files in compliance with all state regulations. The Early Learning Clerk will recruit and enroll students in the preschool program by conducting meetings with parents, holding registration fairs, and guiding parents through the registration process. In addition, the Early Learning Clerk will translate documents and conduct general clerical work in student records. As needed, the Early Learning Clerk will also support the preschool program as a substitute aid when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide program information to families requesting child care services Interact with office personnel and child care center staff in a positive manner Microsoft Office experience such as Word, Power Point and Excel. Provide assistance to and resolve problems with staff, parents, and providers Maintain and update waiting lists Monitor attendance sheets from child care sites Conduct enrollment appointments with prospective families Maintain an updated list of currently enrolled children. Maintain knowledge of all current requirements for families receiving subsidized care according to current regulations. Maintain and update family files Accurately complete all assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis according to agency policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Other Functions and Responsibilities: Actively participate with ideas and feedback during planning sessions geared towards the review and development of program plans. Participate in all program participant recruitment efforts as well as overseeing that enrollment occurs in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain an accurate inventory of program supplies and materials as well as submitting inventory detail as requested. Purchase preapproved program supplies and materials as needed abiding by all Think Together set policies and procedures. Maintain ongoing communication with parents to obtain information to better serve families and maintain program quality. This includes but is not limited to the distribution of programmatic materials and event announcements. Encourage parents to attend and participate in workshops, meetings and advisory committees. Actively link parents/families and support them in their interaction with outside services as provided by ELP Leadership Staff. Facilitate workshops on early literacy strategies for parents as needed. Maintain accurate/detailed records, facilitate meetings, and document referrals. This includes but is not limited to attendance sheets and enrollment packets. Maintain confidential records for each family as assigned. Act as a role model for the communities/sites assigned, fostering professionalism and leadership qualities while always upholding Think Together's mission and values in positive regard. Translate for non-English speaking parents; and, assist parents with application for service as needed Maintain compliance with Think Together and District policies and procedures. Participate in Think Together trainings and meetings as requested; May be required to facilitate workshops. Nurtures and builds strong relationships with volunteers to develop good communication for accountability and long-term commitment to volunteering. Implements the safety plan at the site. Implements other human resource policies and procedures. Attends regularly scheduled meetings and other meetings and trainings as requested.


+ Two years of experience working with children and parents or other office experience.

+ 2-year college degree and/or Associates Degree

+ 6 units ECE Preferred


+ Ability to work well with people and a sensitivity to the needs of children and families.

+ Computer skills and knowledge of Windows Excel and Word at an intermediate or advanced level.

+ Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English.

+ A California Driver's License, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance

+ Must pass background check

+ Bi-literate in Spanish is required.

Background Checks/Testing:

+ Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)

+ Provide a clear TB test

+ Pass Advanced Math and English skills (K - 8) testing

Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:30 A.M.- 5:00 P.M.

Pay-rate: $18.00 an hour
