THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of growing successful brands by building awareness as well as shaping and shifting perceptions around those brands and their categories.

The Chief Marketing Officer will have successfully grown & leveraged Brand, Communications (Analyst, Influencer and Public Relations), Events, Digital Marketing, Demand Generation, Solutions, and Partner Marketing teams to maximize the executive management team's continued pursuit of capturing market share and driving revenue growth.

S/he will have a vision of the market's direction and use it to drive collaboration with, and influence of, sales and product teams. S/he will be great at creating and telling stories for the audiences that matter and be able to track the ROI on marketing initiatives, defining results in terms of business growth versus hype.

With an emphasis on establishing the framework for creating and executing integrated messaging & positioning marketing campaigns and scaling a business, the Chief Marketing Officer's main objectives will be to:

Architect our overarching GTM story narrative, successfully positioning and messaging the Xactly Intelligent Revenue Platform

Drive the development of a thought leadership content strategy that positions Xactly as an innovator and market leader in the intelligent revenue platform space

Deliver an Analyst/Influencer and Public relations strategy to improve Xactly share of voice and increase in earned media coverage

Develop the creative concepts & strategy for our content in line with the Xactly customer buying journey

Define and execute on a 'Demand to Revenue' framework to identify, nurture and consistently capture demand in global/local markets

Formulate, optimize, and drive the company's go-to-market activities and demand generation programs

Ensure regular performance/result tracking and management

Drive scale and consistency across the content production process

Develop a brand identity framework to ensure consistency of communication across all mediums

Lead the production process of key customer facing sales assets and demos, working closely with Sales and Product Marketing

Work with product marketing, customer success and communications teams to produce customer-facing reference materials

Provide a unified digital platform & experience across Websites, Social Media and content hubs

Manage the overall marketing business operations, incl. budget management.

Provide regular ROI tracking and measurement: Global, Regional and Local

THE TEAM

Xactly's Marketing team is a collaborative, friendly and rapidly growing team with diverse backgrounds--we're seasoned Marketing professionals from Fortune 500s, former heads of Marketing at startups, and even a few who are earlier in our career with exceptional motivation to drive performance.

THE SKILL SET:

10+ years of proven experience in strategic messaging & positioning of both brands and categories, and corporate communications, strongly preferred

Experience of delivering board-level presentations and gaining consensus across multiple executive stakeholders to drive exciting change initiatives

Strong understanding of event strategy and execution, and proven experience in running successful global, regional and digital events.

Track record as a highly successful, hands-on Marketer in SaaS environments and a champion of best practices

Experience building and driving the demand generation plan and operations across channels including campaigns, execution, reporting, and analysis and

Advanced knowledge of digital marketing landscape and emerging technologies and trends, especially in the social and mobile space

Strong understanding and practical experience of executing global digital/web strategy

Experience delivering compelling, specific messaging for each stage of the buyer journey, creating an engaging customer experience with bottom-line results

Demonstrated ability to establish a brand and scale a business

Proven reputation as a highly credible and collaborative partner with Sales and Product teams through innovative marketing programs and pipeline-building activities that complement revenue goals

Strong ability to build relationships with customers and internal leadership at all levels, along with effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

Experience with latest lead generation methods for direct sale businesses

Demonstrated leadership qualities that strongly align with Xactly's culture of collaboration, innovation, open discussion of ideas & opinions, no-ego and a focus on delivering real value

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred

WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU'LL

Get your bearings and begin to build a strong foundation, upon which to grow

Build relationships with internal business partners including Chief Executive Officer, Chief of Staff, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Officer, Chief HR Officer, Chief Customer Officer and their respective teams.

Gain a strong understanding of the traditional Sales Performance Management and Revenue Intelligence/Operations space and the business challenges Xactly solves

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU'LL

Have a strong understanding of the business, and begin teaching us a thing or two we don't know

Understand and advise on demand generation strategy to drive continual growth

Assess the impact of marketing at a Global/Regional level and begin building a plan to support the brand marketing, PR, and campaign strategy for each

Execute a 'brand-refresh' and messaging project to fully align with the corporate vision for Xactly

WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU'LL

Begin to implement the vision for change/impact that you have been developing over the past 6-months

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU'LL

Be seen as a well-versed, trusted business-advisor and expert, making a significant positive impact company-wide
