The integration of water purification and on-demand dialysate production enables Tablo to serve as a dialysis clinic on wheels, with 2-way wireless data transmission and a proprietary data analytics platform powering a new holistic approach to dialysis care.

Position Overview

Outset is looking for a knowledgeable and passionate individual to lead the development of the home market for Tablo. He or she will prepare and execute multi-channel marketing strategies, product launch plans, and engage strategically with the sales force and key customers to drive revenue growth and build the Outset Medical brand. In addition, this role will lead a cross-functional team to develop the broader operational capabilities required for Outset to succeed in this market, including service and supply chain.

The ideal candidate should be well versed in the medical technology space, be naturally curious and a creative problem solver. He or she should able to lead a diverse cross-functional group and be able to develop and deliver a strategic and tactical plan based on input from both internal and external stakeholders. Finally, he or she should be passionate about serving customer needs through cutting edge technology application and want to be a part of creating a paradigm shift in renal replacement therapy.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops key commercial and operational strategies to drive adoption and support the use of Tablo in the home setting
  • Determines clinical customer needs via frequent interface and outstanding relationships with end users (physicians, administrators, RN's, etc), and is able to articulate the benefits of Tablo to those end users.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to engage with patients and drive demand for Tablo with patients and care givers
  • Creates the supporting tools, messages and programs to drive revenue growth and to differentiate from the competition in the chronic dialysis market
  • Using strong business acumen, domain expertise, strategic thinking and data, prioritizes investment of financial and human resources to yield the greatest business results in collaboration with sales and operational leadership
  • Develops clinical marketing strategies to clearly articulate the clinical and economic value of Tablo in the home setting
  • Understands and remains current on the dynamics of the chronic dialysis market including competitive activity, clinical data, healthcare economics and reimbursement, regulatory requirements, as well as industry trends
  • Recruits, develops and leads a team to execute on key business building strategies in the United States
  • Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility
  • Drives continuous improvement along with the development, implementation and tracing of business best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to Company Quality policy
  • Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned


  • Bachelor's in Marketing, Business, or related; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience developing and executing key commercial and operational marketing strategies, preferably supporting the successful launch of novel, disruptive products in the medical technology space
  • Experience with consumer facing medical device products is strongly preferred
  • Thoughtful and tactical thinker able to design multi-channel marketing strategies and execute product launch plans
  • Experience branding and marketing diverse products including hardware, software, and data is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership in building, leading, and developing cross-functional teams
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic, persuasive, and highly organized
  • Must have excellent writing, analytical, and research skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak persuasively to audiences of varying size and technical backgrounds
  • Must have high quality computing skills and a demonstrated technological aptitude to learn new systems
