We are looking for a Operations Buyer to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies and this role report to Manager, Materials and will be based in San Jose, CA.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement & Materials Planning, the Purchasing Buyer will complete procurement activities in support of Bloom Manufacturing. This position will serve as a procurement agent in the acquisition of materials and services required to assure on-time deliveries for the production builds in Sunnyvale, CA and Newark, DE. The primary role is to obtain the products and services required in a timely manner, at established quality specifications and best competitive pricing. The position will collaborate with manufacturing, master scheduling, planning, commodity management, logistics, quality and finance personnel in the completion of duties.

We are looking for an experienced, confident professional with high energy, excellent communication and analytical skills and strong personal drive to succeed.

Role and Responsibilities:

Procures goods and services at the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability of source and urgency requirements Reviews Oracle MRP on a regular basis; adjusts part and supplier settings to match the dynamic demand and supply requirements. Executes pull-ins, push outs, cancellations, expedites and new orders at minimal cost as required. Selects suppliers from the approved vendor lists, issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates price and delivery, issues and/or adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner Tracks, provides material status and expedites actual and forecast shortage materials as required to achieve timely receipt of materials. Validates supplier commitments. Coordinates with Supply Chain Management to provide suppliers with short term forecasts Negotiates pricing, delivery, lead time, capacity, change management, business process and executive management in collaboration with Supply Chain Commodity Management. Assists in evaluating supplier performance. May participate in supplier business meetings and audits to maintain strong working relationships. Interfaces with Accounting and Receiving to resolve invoice and receiving problems Pulls and reads goods and service specifications and any associated technical specifications and drawings. Creates and follows purchasing business processes and work instructions. Drives transaction discipline. Adheres to purchasing policies and company business standards of conduct.

Skills and Experience:

Requires a general understanding of supply chain management, competitive analysis, cost analysis, cost avoidance and reduction, negotiation, commodity knowledge, information systems / commerce, and procure to invoice B.S./B.A. Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related discipline Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Materials Planning with at least 2 years of experience in Purchasing Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an MRP system as a buyer. Oracle experience is preferred. Business experience in high technology low volume / high mix product industries preferred Strong knowledge of industry best practices Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills and teamwork skills Solid understanding of/experience with MS Office - required; Visio, Project - preferred Experience using Oracle ERP and Agile PLM software - preferred APICS CSCP or CPIM certification - preferred
