The Director, Learning Development and Engagement, reporting to the SVP of HR, will lead the design and implementation of employee engagement and learning programs. As the ambassador, architect and advisor, you will cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with HR and its partners, identify opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness, and provide systematic and straight forward approaches with measurable impact to address business needs. This person must be comfortable with both strategy and execution; this is a hands-on role that will lead the development and execution of talent management at Synaptics.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and lead the global strategic direction and solutions for the company-wide organizational training, development and engagement programs and initiatives to promote a performance culture that drives business results, employee engagement and retention

Drive to identify and build action plans to help our teams improve employee engagement

Identify and design scalable solutions that include a blended approach to learning such as coaching, classroom training, 1:1 sessions, action learning & e-learning

Deliver high impact training that maximizes learner participation, comprehension and application of the material utilizing technology, interaction, and innovative tactics

Lead teams, whether direct reports and/or cross-functional partners, and vendors in program design and implementation of end-to-end talent management and team development solutions that include the evaluation, design, and delivery of programs

Stay abreast of talent trends, emerging learning technologies, and advanced thinking around solutions to accelerate talent and organizational effectiveness

Cultivate a strong partnership with HR Business Partners and stakeholders to build understanding of business issues, business strategy, how it translates into people strategy, and concrete measures/tracking of impact

Collaborate with HRBPs and HR Leadership Team on design, development, and delivery of on-going talent strategy including: performance management, team and performance effectiveness, learning and capability development

Design and deliver highly effective on-site, off-site strategic planning sessions to enable business effectiveness by facilitating, co-facilitating or enabling Sr. Business Partners to work with leaders to drive change within the business

Review , evaluate, and solicit feedback to assess program effectiveness and evolve program content/approach as necessary

Serve as an internal subject matter expert for Synaptics in the areas including (but not limited to): Leadership and Career Development

Executive Coaching

Learning and Talent Management

On-boarding Initiatives

Succession Planning

Employee Engagement

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Organization Development, Psychology, Human Resources, Business or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Business or a related field is desirable

A successful candidate will have at least 7 to 10 years of Learning and Development experience with specific knowledge and/or expertise in talent assessment and management, learning and development, and organization effectiveness

Proven experience in designing and implementing management effectiveness learning strategies, initiatives, and programs for people managers at all levels

Demonstratable experience with employee engagement and performance management best practices & trends

Experience building out effective use of Learning Management Systems

Strong project management skills, including a proven track record of leading large, complex projects using standard project management practices and tools

Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, communication, and consulting skills. Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, deliver and partner at the most senior levels in the organization

Proven ability to communicate at all levels in the organization

Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to successfully multitask and meet deadlines and customer demands

Must have strong strategic skills and the ability to move seamlessly from strategic to tactical

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Global talent strategy and solutions

Ability to understand multi-cultural attributes and tailor solutions required

Qualifications:

You should be high energy, self-motivated, with a global mindset and a passion for designing and implementing best-fit enterprise wide solutions

Proven ability to understand strategic organizational issues and influence change

Ability to coach, mentor and advise where appropriate to help team members grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals

Exceptional energy and results-orientation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional analytical skills
