Job Description Job Description Litigation Legal Secretary As a Litigation Legal Secretary, you will perform advanced secretarial duties, including the preparation of legal documents and correspondence, while maintaining confidentiality of all legal documents and firm matters. You will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and clients, ensuring efficient trial preparations and adherence to court procedures and protocols. Your responsibilities will include: Drafting correspondence related to clients and regulatory agencies, and setting up shell pleadings with minimal supervision Performing clerical duties requiring knowledge of procedures and specialized terminology Maintaining attorney calendars and travel arrangements Exercising discretion and judgment in client communications Processing incoming mail, entering attorney time on the system, and preparing expense reports Organizing and coordinating meetings and conferences Making recommendations for new procedures Acting as a team facilitator and team lead Providing administrative and overflow support Your Profile Ability to work flexibly and proactively with minimal supervision Independent action and high initiative to resolve issues Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable, and well-organized Superior communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on assigned tasks Good discretion and judgment, maintaining confidentiality of legal documents Integration with and support of the litigation team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, e-filings, and federal/state court procedures Typing speed of 60 wpm and ability to transcribe dictations and telephone messages Proofreading skills to ensure document quality and accuracy Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills for timely document filing Self-starter with common sense and good initiative, possessing exceptional secretarial and organizational skills Willingness to assist and cooperate with others Proficient knowledge of English language, grammar, and spelling Flexibility with assignments and changing priorities, willingness to work overtime as required Salary Range: The anticipated hourly salary wage range is $60.44 ($110,000 annually) to $65.93 ($120,000 annually). The final salary will depend on factors such as experience, education, and industry background. Required Education and Experience: Expert level knowledge in court protocols and filing requirements Minimum of seven years of litigation experience in a law firm High School diploma or equivalent required Working Conditions: Normal office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and similar factors Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
