Job Description:

We represent a private, global asset manager seeking a highly motivated private funds attorney to join its legal team as Head of Private Funds - Legal. This attorney will report to the General Counsel and will be responsible for all private fund formation for investment teams based in the Americas. This attorney will also consult regarding private funds formed for investment teams outside of the Americas to ensure consistency with firmwide standards. This is a great opportunity to join a talented, collaborative and dynamic legal team at a senior level. This position can be based in NYC, CT, or fully remote.Qualifications:

• JD from top tier law school
• 10-15 years of experience in the formation and management of private funds including foundational experience at a top law firm and in-house experience in a fund formation role.
• Command of Advisers Act issues and US federal securities laws with a focus on fund formation, fundraising and fund management. Prior SEC examination experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of private fund formation and common private fund structures including hedge funds, private equity funds and hybrid liquid/illiquid funds. Knowledge of BDCs and interval funds a plus.
• Experience leading fundraising for multiple assets classes. A focus on private debt, secondaries and/or real estate a plus.
