Job Description:
At Walmart Inc., as a Principal Software Engineer focused on
Android development, you will be instrumental in shaping the
experience of millions of customers by providing innovative and
seamless mobile solutions. Our team at the heart of Bentonville,
Arkansas the global hub for our IT innovation needs a seasoned
engineer who will lead the design, implementation, and support of
our Android applications. This is a critical role where strategic
leadership and cutting-edge technical skills come together to
directly impact Walmarts market presence and performance. Lead and
mentor a team of Android developers in creating high-quality mobile
applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including
product management and UX/UI designers, to define, design, and ship
new features. Ensure robust, responsive, and innovative application
performance. Implement, test, and bug-fix functionality, with a
focus on performance optimization. Maintain code integrity and
organization, leveraging continuous integration and deployment
pipelines. Stay up-to-date with new technology trends and evaluate
leading mobile strategies. Review, analyze, and improve operational
metrics and application performance. Expertise in Kotlin and Java
for Android development. Strong understanding of Android SDK,
different versions of Android, and how to deal with different
screen sizes. Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android
applications to back-end services. Knowledge of Android UI design
principles, patterns, and best practices. Experience with offline
storage, threading, and performance tuning. Ability to design
applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
