Job Description:
CalRecycle is seeking an Information Technology Specialist I to
act as a lead technical specialist on teams that develop, maintain,
and enhance custom software application systems that support the
Department's environmental protection programs and activities.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced
environment with other IT professionals with opportunities for
advancement. CalRecycle provides its entire staff with a robust
technical environment, including computers running Windows
10/Office 2016 and equipped with dual monitors, webcams, and
biometric authentication via fingerprint scanners.
You will act as lead technical specialist on the larger, more
complex custom software applications/databases, independently
manage smaller application development projects, and mentor less
experienced software developers. Working independently or with the
assigned project manager, you will perform analysis, design,
implementation, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, maintenance,
and documentation for complex software application development
projects. This may include database design, code construction, code
debugging, code refactoring, integration of existing code bases,
and testing of code for functionality and adherence to business
requirements and shop standards.
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework un der Government
Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject
to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in
the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees
not residing in California are not eligible for telework.
Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required
to report to the position's designated headquarters location, as
indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.
