reimagine the human journey.Meet The TeamArgo's Autonomous Vehicles
(AVs) are cutting edge, but even so, they encounter situations
where human assistance may be required. The Remote Guidance
Autonomy team is part of the Motion Planning team. The Remote
Guidance Autonomy team creates software so that the AV can identify
these situations, stop safely, and request assistance from a human
operator at a remote station. The Remote Guidance Autonomy team
also gives the AV the ability to respond to guidance from the
remote operator to allow it to continue on its way.What You'll
Do
- Design and implement software to determine when to request
remote guidance. Iterate on design using a data-driven approach
with feedback from Argo's fleet of test vehicles
- Design behaviors that allow the AV's motion planning system to
respond to remote guidance, prioritizing safety and successful trip
completion
- Communicate designs to teammates and other stakeholders through
design documents and presentations
- Develop C++ software to implement remote guidance
functions
- Work with the Remote Guidance Platform team, who own the Remote
Guidance station UX, to integrate remote guidance requests and
autonomy behaviors into the remote guidance system
- Work with test engineers, vehicle operators, and remote
guidance operators to validate the safety, efficacy, and
performance of the remote guidance system
- Use Argo's data analytics and log review tooling to analyze the
performance of the remote guidance system and determine ways to
further improve itWhat You'll Need To Succeed
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Robotics or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience working on large software projects, requiring the
use of version control and collaboration tools
- Strong communication skills, both written and oralNice To Haves
- Familiarity with Python, particularly for data analysis
- Experience with robotics, particularly "cobotics" or hybrid
human-in-the-loop systems
- Experience with videogame programming
- Experience with C++ build systems, such as bazel and CMake
- Experience with Qt as a visualization/GUI toolkit
