We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Global Business Services Cloud Center of Competency is a Leader in Cloud solutions. We are seeking applications for a Solution Architect Modernization: Mainframe / Application Consultant- Legacy Modernization position to join our team. The role is meant for highly talented hands-on Consultants and Architects to help accelerate our Cloud Modernization journey in IBM Cloud space.In this role as an experienced Solution Architect, you will work with our customers with Mainframe resources in re-architecting, re-factoring , containerizing, developing and re-engineering applications that can fully leverage Multicloud platforms. You will work on a variety of game changing projects with a variety of customers, at the forefront of application development and cloud technology adoption. We are looking for hands on Architects who are Thought Leaders with extensive knowledge in legacy modernization techniques related tools and approaches. Strong experience of Designing Multicloud architectures which meet or exceed the requirements of workloads coming from mainframe and legacy infrastructures is mandatory. You will work on a variety of opportunities and projects, at the forefront of application development and cloud technology adoption. In this role, you will design and develop native cloud applications, architect IBM Cloud solutions and participate in cloud adoption, optimization and migration strategies for our clients with mainframe resources. You will also advise our clients on API, Microservices, legacy application modernization and deployment to the cloud. The role requires the ability to work with the client's IT team, as well as C-level executives to demonstrate the cloud value proposition. This includes assessing the current application and infrastructure environment, performing a gap analysis, and recommending the to-be solution architecture. As the Application Consultant- Legacy Modernization, you will be required to deliver a proof of concept or minimum viable product using agile methodology and IBM design thinking. You will use your knowledge of platform based cloud development as a service offerings in the market, born-on-the-cloud application architecture and best practices, API management, DevOps, Internet of Things, and Cloud Integration suites to advise our clients on their hybrid/multi cloud journey. The ideal candidate will be able to: * Lead teams in Legacy Modernization efforts serving clients including strategic assessment of the client's existing mainframe ecosystem, migrating applications to the cloud, language migration and rearchitecting. * Provide technical insight and oversight for teams performing static code discovery, rehosting assessment, language migration and migration to cloud* Collaborate with leads across a team of engineers and products developers to plan and execute Legacy Modernization projects.* Manage day-to-day interactions with clients and sponsors * Manage and contribute to Client's proposal work for new business Perform role of mentor and coach in the field of Legacy Modernization* Implement Agile processes and DevOps practices including continuous integration and automated deployment.* Bring in Eminence, Thought Leadership, Identify trends and business opportunities.* Develop and maintain sustainable Sales pipelineRequired Technical and Professional ExpertiseAt least 7 years of hands-on technical experience with mainframe and other legacy systems and with technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Java, Rexx, flat/sequential files, GDGs, and VSAMAt least 5 years of experience designing architectures for secure enterprise systemsAt least 5 years of experience designing and deploying software and middleware solutions used in top global companies Experience migrating workloads from mainframe and other legacy systems to distributed x86 infrastructures on-premises or in the CloudExperience integrating mainframe and other legacy systems with Distributed Open systemsExperience with tools and methodologies used to migrate mainframe workloads via hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and re-platformingExperience with analyzing on-premises mainframe applications and data stores to formulate plans for modernizing workloads that achieve customer's desired business outcomesExperience of COBOL modernization and porting application code across platformsExperience of proprietary legacy data store migration to relational databasesExperience of legacy systems data replication or messagingAbility to evaluate and plan migrations to a cloud platform.Preferred Technical and Professional Expertisen/aAbout Business UnitIBM Services is a team of business, strategy and technology consultants that design, build, and run foundational systems and services that is the backbone of the world's economy.
