Role: Splunk is looking for early career Software Engineers to join us. We have open opportunities for new grads in the following engineering teams in San Jose, San Francisco and Seattle.

  • GDI (Getting Data In) - cloud data collection, building integration with AWS, Azure, GCP to bring data into Splunk Cloud.
  • ML (Machine Learning) - building machine learning infrastructure, services and a platform for internal and external customers.
  • Security Products - connector applications interacting with security and IT Infrastructure which are used in our SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) products. In this role, you will
    • Contribute to the design and development of one of more features and
    • Follow best software development practices and participate in code reviews.
    • Develop code with sufficient unit and functional test coverage.
    • Learning to, and participates in estimating sprint sized software deliverables
    • Understand the overall product and have mastery of your own feature area.
    • Effectively communicate within your team, and contributes effectively to the success of those that they interact with regularly.
    • Require occasional supervision by senior engineers, but is mostly self-directed, and guided by project requirements.
    • Have a Senior Engineer assigned as a mentor Requirements: To be a successful candidate, you are:
      • Skilled in developing at least one mainstream programming language, such as Java or Python
      • Have worked on a large multi month and multi developer project as part of a coop/internship term, an open source project, or school project
      • Familiar with test-driven development, writing various levels of automated tests, such as unit test, functional test, integration test, system test, or performance / load test
      • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket pipeline
      • Familiar with modern version control system, such as Git
      • Familiar with development on multiple operating systems, such as Linux or Unix
      • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Plus: Not required, and would be good to have:
        • Exposure with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
        • Exposure with container technologies, such as Docker. Ideally with container orchestration such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
        • Exposure with big data technologies, such as the Apache big data open source ecosystem.
        • Exposure with Splunk software or a similar analytics solution
        • Exposure with contributing to open source projects
        • Exposure with working in a direct customer facing environment What We Offer You:
