The Principal Recruiter will support Optum's most critical talent and leadership needs and will manage all aspects of the recruiting life cycle across a broad spectrum of mid-senior level roles. This team member will conduct networking, direct search, and talent pipelining across the European Union to ensure a continual flow of talent prospects for Optum's technology, analytics, pharma, and leadership hiring needs.

Our Principal Recruiters are talent advisors who manage and lead the end-to-end recruiting process and are directly accountable for talent sourcing and selection, consulting with Hiring Managers, Human Capital, and COE partners throughout the hiring process, providing detailed assessments for candidates, developing and managing talent pipelines, and managing the offer and hiring process. Our focus on proactive and efficient recruiting processes, creative sourcing strategies, overall quality, and productivity, ensures that we are much more than just a recruiting team - we are true business partners, consulting with our internal customers to ensure the perfect match of talent.

A typical day as a Principal Recruiter will include networking, cold calling, negotiating, and selling, with an emphasis on executing creative approaches to locating and identifying the best and brightest talents. This teammate will have a proactive approach to sourcing and pipelining with a high sense of urgency.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin office and telecommuting from a home-based office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full life-cycle management of the recruitment process, from candidate attraction through to offer and onboarding for key talent groups including technology, analytics, consulting, and senior/executive leadership within the Optum business. Associated activities include, but are not limited to, sourcing of target profiles and managing candidate flow; collaborating with managers to identify their hiring needs; and interviewing and evaluating talent leveraging behavioral interviewing techniques and assessment techniques
  • Leverage a wide variety of sourcing channels and approaches, along with an intricate knowledge of the talent market, to build sourcing approaches and engage top talents
  • Build rapport with hiring managers and key stakeholders and become an expert on the talent and business strategy, team, role(s), requirements, goals, and priorities, and utilize this understanding to develop compelling stories to share with potential candidates
  • Demonstrate diversity and inclusion expertise and techniques to reach diverse populations
  • Candidate experience champion, with a singular focus on providing outstanding experiences to internal and external talents
  • Collaborate with internal talent partners, Human Capital, and CoE partners to identify high-potential internal talent, craft appropriate offers, analytics/data, and to gather market intelligence, the competitor landscape, and industry analytics
  • Solve complex problems and develop innovative and strategic solutions for business partners
  • Provide executive-level summary of progress, relevant data and analytics on talent pools and recruiting performance and apply data-driven approaches to influence business decisions

    Required Qualifications:

    • Significant end-to-end recruitment experience, including developing and implementing recruiting and sourcing strategies
    • Experience recruiting locally and across the EU for a variety of senior to executive roles
    • Strong stakeholder management experience up to executive/C-level business leaders
    • Demonstrated proficiency in direct search/headhunting techniques, developing and managing talent pipelines, and identifying talent through non-traditional and niche channels
    • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience creating business-facing presentations
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Intermediate proficiency with ATS system

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience recruiting and developing recruiting strategies for technology, analytics, pharmaceutical, consulting, and/or healthcare organizations
      • Experience recruiting within a search firm
