Job Description

As Vice President, People Communications, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of all global employee communications. In this role, you will build a new modern, employee communications function that creates and drives a compelling and cohesive narrative focused on defining the company's employee experience and engagement. Reporting into the company's SVP, Corporate Marketing, you will lead a global team responsible for creating communication strategies that highlight the innovation and value of our People programs. You and your team will play a vital role in communication activities with the goal of increasing global employee engagement and building a culturally aligned employee community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead development and implementation of modern, global employee communication function that drives employee engagement, builds the company's culture and establishes effective foundational processes for collaborating with executive leaders and the People organization.
  • Define and build a People Communications organization that includes fundamental skills to develop relevant/relatable content, adopt modern employee communications tools and approaches, and incorporates creative thinking as critical to the team's operational model.
  • Partner with our People teams to provide senior counsel on best practices for global communications programs that support key HR functions and that align with a cohesive narrative and brand.
  • Drive innovative approaches that leverage modern technology to deliver key messages and narratives in more efficient and effective ways and that reach a diverse employee base located all around the world.
  • Lead the direction of an editorial team of writers in creating newsroom-style coverage for internal and external communications channels that tells the company's story through our people, programs and processes.
  • Lead ongoing executive listening/engagement strategies to understand employee perspectives and sentiments that are then incorporated into communications strategies.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience in leading internal/employee communications functions
    • Strong people leader with 10+ years of management experience
    • Proven record of incorporating modern communications techniques into employee communications strategies
    • Experience building a modern, employee communications function that supports a global and diverse employee community
    • Experience communicating to a global employee audience using all relevant communication channels
    • Experience with or exposure to strategic change management and change communication strategies preferred
    • Ability to lead the creation of compelling communications - written, presentations, verbal
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environment
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
    • Ability to take the initiative and problem solve
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
    • Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to develop innovative communication strategies
    • Experience with web publishing and social media platforms
