The culinary team caters corporate and social events at our historic Novitiate Winery. Recognized for our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, we have over 1,500 wines earning an Outstanding score of 90+ points! Join our talented team to be a part of making and providing the finest wines and winery experiences possible for our guests! What you will get to do! As a Kitchen Cook, you'll execute seasonal menu items designed around world class Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays for the winery. Working at our offsite kitchen in San Jose and/or Los Gatos Winery, the day to day may include: --- Prep and cook menu items according to instruction and support from the executive and sous chefs --- Label, stock, and organize ingredients to sanitation and food safety guidelines --- Manage ingredients and inventory; communicate and report to the executive and sous chefs --- Provide support in the following areas: events line execution, wine bar food prep, pastry/baking prep, and porter What we offer! --- 401(k) retirement savings plan with a match! --- 50% off wine and many more winery discounts! --- A relaxing glass of wine after each shift --- Paid sick time & COVID supplemental sick leave --- Employee referral program --- A beautiful historic work environment with passionate and fun colleagues! Qualifications What we are looking for --- 1+ year of kitchen experience or equivalent culinary education --- ServSafe and/or California Food Handlers Certification --- Ability to adjust and modify recipe quantity --- Safe knife skills and kitchen sanitation knowledge --- Ability to work effectively in a team, be proactive, have a sense of urgency, a positive attitude and effective communication Work Environment & Physical Requirements --- Ability to work a flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays) --- Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and reach frequently for the duration of the shift --- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently --- Handles sharp and hot tools regularly --- Frequently utilizes cleaning chemicals --- Drive to/from the offsite kitchen in San Jose to the Winery in Los Gatos, as needed To protect our employees and guests Testarossa Winery requires its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or request an approved exemption as an accommodation.
