Job Description Job Description Role Summary Our client, a postsecondary nursing education provider, is seeking an Assistant Program Director to support the leadership, administration, and delivery of its nursing program. This role partners closely with senior academic leadership to ensure program quality, regulatory compliance, faculty effectiveness, and student success. The position blends academic administration with instructional responsibilities and plays a key role in clinical partnerships, accreditation readiness, and curriculum execution. Key Responsibilities Program Administration & Compliance Support the supervision, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing program activities. Assist senior academic leadership with program operations and special initiatives. Prepare required reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and documentation for state and Nursing Board requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable state Board of Nursing regulations, including timely reporting of faculty changes as required. Develop, implement, and maintain program policies and procedures. Maintain current knowledge of state rules and regulations related to nursing practice and education. Faculty & Instructional Leadership Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, orientation, and scheduling. Assign faculty to courses and clinical sites; facilitate regular faculty meetings and maintain accurate records and minutes. Monitor instructional quality and participate in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planning. Teach nursing courses and/or supervise clinical instruction (approximately 50% of role). Clinical Partnerships & Oversight Develop, initiate, and maintain educational partnerships and contracts with clinical sites. Conduct or delegate clinical site evaluations to assess capacity, safety, staffing, and alignment with course objectives. Coordinate clinical rotations, ensuring appropriate faculty coverage, schedules, and objectives. Ensure clinical contracts are current and properly maintained. Collect evaluations from students, faculty, and clinical partners at the conclusion of rotations and provide summary reports to senior leadership and advisory committees. Student Services & Academic Support Oversee admissions processes and student orientation. Provide advising, academic planning, and support to prospective and current students. Ensure students are properly oriented to skills labs and clinical facilities prior to rotations. Monitor student progress and confirm completion of all documentation and requirements for graduation and licensure eligibility. Participate in planning and execution of Nursing Advisory Committee meetings. Collaboration & Professional Engagement Serve as liaison between the college, clinical partners, and the community. Assist in identifying and securing external resources to support the nursing program. Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain required continuing education hours. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (or higher degree). Minimum of three (3) years of direct nursing experience as a Registered Nurse. Demonstrated ability to support academic administration and program compliance. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in academic and clinical environments. Preferred Qualifications Three (3) years of nursing leadership experience. Three (3) years of experience as a Nursing Instructor (vocational nursing or RN programs). At least one (1) year of clinical instruction experience (highly preferred). Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Experience in supervision, planning, and program coordination within nursing education. Education & Regulatory Requirements (Summary) Active RN license in the state of employment. Baccalaureate degree from an approved nursing program. Within the past five (5) years, one of the following: At least three (3) years of RN experience including teaching or clinical supervision in an approved nursing program; or At least three (3) years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education. Coursework in administration, teaching, and curriculum development completed through an approved institution.
