outcomes. Staff Systems Verification Engineers are key to
developing instrument and reagent products at BD Biosciences. This
individual leads system characterization and verification aspects
of product development in collaboration with cross-disciplinary
functional teams to develop applications for our world class
cellular analysis systems for the clinical market. Responsibilities
Lead, design, and execute system verification activities throughout
all phases of the product development process. Understands and
appreciates customer needs and workflows applied to development and
execution of formal protocols, analysis, and results
interpretation. Perform sub-system characterization and system
integration of hardware, software, and reagents to assess
performance and capability of flow cytometry and automated sample
preparation products. Lead defect and customer complaint root cause
investigations, troubleshooting efforts, and solving
technical/scientific issues. Review designs, requirements, and
documentation for accuracy. Understands and champions best
practices for design control in a regulated environment. Leads
initiatives to drive more reliable, efficient, and effective
verification testing. Work closely with regulatory and quality
partners on regulatory submissions. Qualifications B.S. degree in
an engineering or science discipline. M.S./Ph.D preferred. 8 years'
experience in life science instrumentation, medical device, or test
engineering, preferably in immunology, with 4 years of experience
as a technical/verification lead. Track record of delivering
successful clinical products with a thorough understanding of
quality systems. Experience working with regulatory and quality
teams and knowledge of regulatory agency requirements.
Demonstratable experience in troubleshooting and root cause
analysis of complex systems. Critical thinking mindset mixed with
creativity and a knack for problem solving. Excellent
organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently
evaluate, prioritize, and handle multiple projects or activities.
Effective presentation and communication skills within all levels
of the organization and with a wide variety of external/internal
colleagues and collaborators. Experience in statistical analysis
