Job DescriptionGardner Health Services is currently recruiting
to fill an Optometrist position. This is a permanent 32-hour per
week position and is eligible for Gardner's full benefits program
including medical, dental and vision coverage. The position is
based out of the South County Health Center located at 7526
Monterey Road Gilroy, CA 95020. Currently, this position is
assigned a schedule to work 8:30am - 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday and Friday. The Optometrist provides direct primary eye
care and guidance to Gardner patients and/or makes appropriate
referrals. The position supervises Optometry Technicians and other
support staff. The ideal candidate will be able to work
independently and as part of a team. Excellent experience and
ability to provide strong customer service to patients from a
variety of backgrounds and cultures is important. This recruitment

minimum qualifications of this position is listed below. An
equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered.
- Doctorate degree from a school of Optometry approved by the
state of California.
- A current California License to practice optometry.
- Certificate in Ocular Pharmacology issued by the State Board of
Optometry.
- An average of 50 post-graduate hours in Optometric-Medical
education in the last 2 years.
- Membership or fellowship in a minimum of two (2) of the
following professional organizations: American Academy of
Optometry, American Public Health Association, American Optometric
Association, or California Optometric Association
- Current DEA license number (For Regular Part-time/Full-time
Optometrist that work 20+ Hours)*If selected, other documents and
certifications may be required as part of the hiring and
credentialing process*Compensation:Compensation and level of
position placement will be determined based on relevant experience
