Job Description:

Well known and respected non profit serving the Bay area for over 40 years is searching for a Therapist for their short term respite program. This full-time role provides clinical services and mental health support for up to 10 clients in a short term residential environment, clients apply to be part of the program and are there on their own free will. The Therapist partners with the Clinical Case Manager to train and develop peer staff, as well as evaluate guests in a variety of capacities including but not limited to: greeting, assessing and evaluating guests, providing individual care to guests according to BBS guidelines, de-escalating and debriefing in a capacity that promotes safety and appropriate leadership within an intentional peer support (IPS) model.

The program promotes a positive and collaborative environment where everyone has a voice to shape this evolving environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide staff support and guidance regarding crisis intervention, risk-assessments, program compliance, program structure, and guest safety. Work in tandem with the peer respite Clinical Case Manager to ensure appropriate assessment, care and follow up with guests, and provide support to House Manager to ensure continuity of care and a safe house environment.
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult situations as they arise and debrief with guests and/or peer support staff as needed.
  • Partner with Manager and Program Director to meet program goals and contract requirements. Support Clinical Case Manager and Program Director with necessary interventions including 5150's.
  • Maintain excellent communication with staff and community partners.
  • Meet weekly meetings with the Clinical Case Manager and/or Program Director for supervision and program planning/development and is required to attend agency staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Participate as a collaborative member of team including providing support to staff when necessary.
  • Cultural competency and ability to work with diverse populations in an Intentional Peer Support model setting.
  • May need to support on-call crisis or emergencies in person or via agency cell phone.

    Qualifications:
    • Licenses - Valid California BBS Registration as an AMFT, APCC, ASW or LMFT, LPCC, LCSW
    • Education - Completion of Master's level degree.
