PEAK is looking for a Principal Product Manager (Licensing and
Program Management) for a growing public network security company
in Bay Area. The Licensing and Program Management PM is a new role
crucial to the continued transformation of the licensing for
hardware, software and SaaS products. This PM will design and
execute on new license models (subscription, perpetual, pooled, pay
as you go, fremium, evergreen, ELA) for enterprise and service
provider customers. Collaborating with fellow PMs and engineering
teams, this role will manage the roadmap and development for both
the global and local licensing servers. In order to deliver an
end-to-end solution, the PM will define and partner with the IT
organization for all required IT projects and oversee its delivery.
The role has a program management component. The person will work
with the VP of Product Line Management and his direct reports to
ensure collaboration within the PM team and with the broader
organization stakeholders to achieve a predictable product delivery
rhythm. Plus, the role will provide guidance and expertise to the
Sales Operations and other stakeholders involved in transforming
our SKU system.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Own the roadmap and product execution for all licensing models for
hardware, software and SaaS.
Own the roadmap and delivery of features for the global licensing
manager and local licensing manager.
Analyze license usage and consumption data continuously to propose
new growth plans.
Partner with Product Managers to create 2nd generation licensing
offering that encompasses pooled, ELA, consumption/pay as you go,
subscription and perpetual.
Communicate clearly with all stakeholders within product management
and engineering regarding progress, milestones and expected
deliveries.
Serve as program manager owning the product delivery schedule for
new product introductions collaborating with Product Managers,
Sales Enablement, Product Marketing Managers and Sales.
Collaborate with the IT organization and stakeholders to define and
oversee delivery of IT projects related to the end-to-end delivery
of new and current licensing offerings.
Collaborate with Sales Operations and related stakeholders and
Product Managers to simplify the SKU structure.
Manage feature prioritization and trade-off decision making in
collaboration with Product Managers.
Act as the product owner in an Agile/Scrum process and own writing
of user stories, acceptance criteria, and sign off on feature
completion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor' s Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent
skills, and minimum 10+ years of experience.
5+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum teams as a Product
Owner.
A strong passion for licensing models, their implementation through
licensing technology and commercialization across HW, SW, SaaS.
A strong interest to solve problems working with IT and other
stakeholders to ensure that licensing products can be ordered,
delivered and revenue recognized.
A strong analytical, test and learn mindset to find insights from
customer license usage and consumption data to support pricing and
plan optimization.
Understanding of the commercial and business consumption models of
data plane networking solutions and related SaaS services.
Prior experience in program management and knowledge to break
barriers within and across organizations.
Experience working with engineering and cross functional teams in a
high technology company.
Prior experience in licensing products for a technology
company.
Software development background is a plus.
Superlative collaboration mindset - this is a highly
