Position SummarySamsung is a world leader in Memory, LCD and
System LSI technologies. We are currently looking for exceptional
software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D
Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in
San Jose, CA. SARC was established in Austin, TX in 2010 to be one
of Samsung's strategic investments in high performance low power
ARM based device technology. Presently our GPU design teams,
located in Austin (SARC) and San Jose (ACL), are developing a GPU
that will be deployed in Samsung mobile products. Our System IP
team located in Austin (SARC) is working on Coherent Interconnect
and memory controller architectures.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe
GPU Program Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery
of the roadmap of Graphics IP designed by the organization. - This
person will work with the R&D teams to develop project plans
including schedules, resource estimates, risk mitigation plans,
quality metrics, etc. - They will then be responsible to help the
R&D teams manage the execution of the program for on time
delivery. - A key role of this person is to identify and drive
resolution of cross functional technical issues between the
Architecture & Modeling, RTL, DV, Physical Design, Performance &
Power, Customer, IT, CAD, Silicon Evaluation, Software and SOC
groups. - This person must be technical and have a passion to dig
in and learn about the product being developed. - They must also
learn the processes used in the organization and when needed
recommend modifications to them. - The role is technically broad,
but also requires exceptional soft skills to deal with conflict
situations and negotiate agreements between teams. -Skills and
QualificationsMinimum requirements:
- BSEE, Computer Engineering or comparable and 5+ years of hands
on experience in some aspect of hardware design (RTL, DV, Physical
implementation, CAD etc.) in the development of CPU/GPU/SOC
- Understanding and working knowledge of the SOC/ASIC development
process from concept, design, validation, implementation, to
tapeout, silicon evaluation, and production release. -
- Ability to create plans, track progress to them, and adjust as
needed to deliver the final product on schedule.
- Strong communication skills, team player working in a
collaborative work environment.
- Ability to work independently, take-charge and improve project
visibility with minimal mentorshipPreferred candidate will possess
the following:
- Prior management experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Verilog, UVM methodologies, DFT, Physical
Implementation and silicon evaluation.
- Experience using tools like MS Project, MS Office, JIRA and
Confluence, and ability to implement process automation in support
of this role.Compensation for this role will vary among specific
regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual
pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills
and experience, and comparisons to other employees in the role.
However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as
follows: Colorado: Compensation is expected to be
between$136,349.00 and $165,758.00NYC: Compensation is expected to
be between$136,349.00 and $165,758.00Washington State: Compensation
is expected to be between$149,793.00 and $182,102.00California:
Compensation is expected to be between$149,793.00 and
$182,102.00Regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) have
