PR Manager, Cisco Customer Experience

What You'll Do
We are seeking a highly motivated PR Manager to join our corporate
and tech PR team. This is an opportunity for a creative, agile
communications professional with strong media relations and
integrated communications experience to help build a program
passionate about telling customer and industry transformation
stories of Cisco's Customer Experience (CX) team among business,
technology and trade press. Cisco CX brings together best-in-class
technology services experts with digital intelligence to deliver a
wide array of services and solutions that accelerate customer
transformation and success.
In this role you will partner across corporate and tech PR, analyst
relations, and global communications to lead and manage
communications projects that support sales, articulate Cisco's
services strategy, and demonstrate the role CX plays in Cisco's own
- Advocate the CX voice within Cisco's global communications
- Translate business priorities into communications plans.
- Develop and execute on integrated, business-aligned CX
communications/PR plans, in collaboration with business
- Work closely with teammates and external stakeholders to
identify CX-relevant trends and announcements that support sales
and growth, as well as Cisco thought leadership.
- Identify speaking opportunities for key CX executives that
support the overarching PR goals
- Develop and execute on a strategy to elevate CX as a strategic
element of Cisco's success, including the relevance of CX to Cisco
- Build scalable, repeatable processes for integrated
communications around CX to enable narratives to scale
- Partner with colleagues to mine for CX-focused customer and
partner narratives to share externally.
- Integrate the CX voice into key company-wide events and moments
such as CiscoLive! and Cisco Partner Summit.
Who You'll Work With
Global Communications is a team of more than 120 outstanding
communications professionals. The team is responsible for leading
Cisco's corporate and technology PR programs, as well as crafting
and delivering clear and compelling narratives that grab the
attention of media and influencers.
You will partner with a virtual team of communicators worldwide who
are passionate about the role Cisco is playing in building an
Global Communications is home to Corporate and Technology PR,
International Communications, Analyst Relations, Employee and CEO
Communications and Digital Communications.
Who You Are
We are looking for a strong writer who can work across teams to
drive media coverage and reach customers. In this role you will
serve as an ambassador for the Cisco brand.
You are naturally curious. You can clearly communicate and present
sophisticated topics. You love to collaborate with colleagues to
deliver excellent results. You have strong writing and project
management skills. You will use your presentation and
relationship-development skills to reach, engage and connect with a
variety of audiences.
The best candidates for this role possess a combination of
communications skills, an unbridled curiosity for finding and
telling narratives (wherever they may be hiding), and of course, a
competence and interest in growing your skills for storytelling
across multiple communication channels and media.
- BA/BS degree and 8+ years of related B2B or technology
- Must have demonstrated experience managing stakeholder
- Excellent writing skills, with some experience in drafting
high-quality news releases, blogs, media pitches, FAQs, messaging,
and social media copy.
- Experience working at a large tech company with demonstrated
understanding of go-to-market strategies preferred.
- Experience and passion for pitching and working closely with
technology, business, and broadcast media.
- Agile teammate who values working in a collaborative
- Experience working with remote teams, and across different
- Solid interpersonal, relationship-building, and communications
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and
balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and project
- A demonstrated understanding of what makes a good story. Some
experience with visual story telling preferred.
- Experience working with IT services and customer experience
teams a bonus.
