The Product Management team drives the development, product definition, and planning to optimize the company's products and solutions. The Product Management team evaluates in-depth market analysis and leads business case development for optimization of existing products and solutions alternatives and/or to create the next generation of new products. Collaborates with research and development to create products and validate early product definitions. This role is both strategic and technical in nature and requires meaningful industry experience.

As a Technical Product Manager, Principal focused on Robotics Innovation, you will be responsible for the mid- and long-term R&D initiatives for our robotics platform. This includes evaluating new market segments for innovative robotics solutions, identifying future use cases, driving technology product requirements for machine learning and AI (Artificial Intelligence) models, defining successful outcomes for customer pilots, and monitoring technology readiness and maturity.

Responsibilities:
As a Robotics Innovation Technical Product Manager, Principal, you will:

  • Own the mid- and long-term R&D initiatives for the robotics platform, including value proposition,
    business case, roadmap, technical requirements identification, R&D execution, experimentation,
    and technology readiness.
  • Define clear, actionable, and customer-driven product requirements through comprehensive
    knowledge of the customers and their needs, market, competitive landscape, and technology
    trends,
  • Works with customers, partners, and vertical market experts to understand, prioritize, and drive
    market-level requirements into product backlog and roadmaps.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong knowledge of the competitive and technological environment
    to inform development opportunities.
  • Drives the development of product definition and cross-organization planning to accelerate the
    realization of new value through emerging technologies.
  • Work closely with the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and the CTO Advanced Robotics Group in
    executing strategic initiatives and customer-driven product roadmaps.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders throughout the development process in negotiating design
    trade-offs that may be needed, while preserving the requirements stated in the product epics or
    Product Description documents (PDD).
  • Collaborates with the Robotics platform product managers in defining technology transfer
    readiness, driving the project transfer to the mainstream robotics platform, and clearly laying out
    the dependencies and success goals.
  • Serve as the robotics functional safety expert and main representative for external engagements (safety committees, conferences, customer engagements).
  • Travel as needed to visit customers, partners, attend seminars, tradeshows or meet relevant
    regional stakeholders. Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Robotics or related field plus 12 years of related
      experience and 5+ years of technical product management expertise or Master's Degree in Computer Science Robotics or related fielf plus 10 years of related experience 5+ years of technical product management expertise or PhD Degree in Computer Science Robotics or related field plus 6 years of related
      experience 3+ years of technical product management expertise
    • Minimum 12 years of work experience in Robotics or related field (experience could include relevant MA/PHD program research). Key Skills and Competencies:
      • Significant robotics experience (professional or technical research)
      • Deep technical understanding of robotics, machine vision, artificial intelligence, and
        machine learning models
      • Previous experience developing and managing complex technical products
      • Excels in identifying and understanding customer needs and translating them into clear
        and actionable engineering requirements.
      • Strong planning and execution skills. Able to multi-task and manage complex programs.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to interact with customers.
      • Effective communication skills including written, verbal, and oral presentation skills as
        well as ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior
        management, technical leads, clients, and customers.
      • Advanced analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
      • Industry knowledge of warehousing or manufacturing strongly preferred.
      • Basic scripting language skills.
      • Demonstrates good judgement in decision making, applies knowledge and experience to
        guide decisions.
      • Ability to assess complex market landscape and create focused, integrated product
        plans.
      • Deep understanding of financial concepts including P&L, balances sheets, and ROI
        (Return on Investment) models with delivery of product through defined objectives.
      • Advanced market and competitive knowledge in assigned product vertical, category or
        technology or solutions.
      • Strong business acumen.
      • Excellent skills in Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
      • Travel Requirements as 20% of time

        Salary: USD 161000.00 - USD 241500.00 Yearly

        Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
        Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
