Here our associates can fulfil their life's purpose through the work that they do every day. The Privacy Manager will support BD's Global Privacy Office and Law Group. The Privacy Manager will be responsible for supporting company stakeholders in various business segments, units and functions across the world, with a key focus on implementing, overseeing and ensuring compliance and conformity with BD's Privacy Program, and applicable privacy and data protection laws. Job Responsibilities: Privacy Program Support: Support the development of the Privacy Program, and serve as a point of contact for business stakeholders for attaining advice, direction and counseling on data protection and privacy matters. Project Management: Implement appropriate processes and controls to address privacy gaps and mitigate privacy risks, provide project management leadership and support for privacy-related projects, working closely with appropriate functions and businesses. Data Governance and Lifecycle Management: Development and maintenance of data maps, inventories of processing activities, IT platforms and products, assist the business in performing privacy impact assessments, review and approve all assessments and, where appropriate, remediate identified risks. Additionally, the management of the availability, usability, integrity and security of data in enterprise systems, based on internal data standards and policies that also control data usage. Written Standards: Implement written standards, policies and procedures to comply with regulations, and detect opportunities for developing granular documents to provide guidance to support business objectives. Training & Awareness: Oversee, direct, deliver, and ensure delivery of effective privacy training and guidance to all relevant BD associates, contractors and third parties, with respect to BD privacy written standards. Third Party Management: support the privacy third party assessment process and, where applicable, the transfer impact assessment process, and ensure appropriate use of privacy contract templates. Incident Management and Individual Rights Processing: Manage and address requests and complaints from data subjects, and support privacy incidents and personal data breach response activities, including incident intake, assessments, documentation and escalations. Monitoring and Remediation: Support the delivery and implementation of plans for privacy compliance, auditing, and monitoring activities to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the Privacy Program. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Undergraduate or professional degree in related specialty preferred) At least three years of experience in a healthcare privacy compliance role, or equivalent industry, law firm or regulatory experiencewith strong focus on data privacy, particularly compliance with the GDPR and HIPAA Demonstrated organization, leadership and management skills Exceptional communication, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness Strong interpersonal skills, organizational savvy and an ability to influence others Ability to think creatively to resolve issues Strong project management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Data Governance experience Medical device industry experience IAPP certification(s): CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, or J.D. candidates strongly preferred Experience of working in a multinational company and a complex, matrixed environment is a significant plus For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company's receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
