Job Description:
The Director of DevOps will be a versatile, product delivery
expert focused on architecting, developing, deploying, and
maintaining product and supporting infrastructures on AWS. You will
also lead production support engineering for the Bigfoot Unity
system and associated applications and will partner closely with
business, engineering and IT leaders.In this role, you will drive
teams to engineer the Bigfoot Cloud Platform services based on the
platform and enterprise architecture roadmap. Reporting to the VP
of Development, you will be responsible for providing technical
leadership and guidance to a cross-functional team of engineers in
the areas of Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps and production
support.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and manage infrastructure services on public and private
clouds.
- Build and deploy applications using Containers, Kubernetes and
server-less technologies.
- Lead team of DevOPS and Production Support engineers.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for applications hosted on
cloud infrastructure.
- Provide quality and timely resolution of application defects/
problems & enhancement requests through the management of the
application development lifecycle.
- Define and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs),
policies, and process changes for IT to ensure service quality
business expectations are met.
- Create metrics, reports, and dashboards, and review with teams
and management to analyze status, trends, areas of strength, and
opportunities for improvement.
- Work with operations, customer service, and care managers teams
to resolve issues and find solutions.
- Work with multiple vendors/partners to deliver existing
services against Key Performance Indicators and identifying new /
rationalizing existing services.
- Coordinate and perform root-cause investigations
- Guide the team through and coach on decision making practices,
such as trade-off matrices
- Define and support non-functional requirements, such as
Manufacturability, serviceability, cost, reliability
- Hire, Coach and mentor a team of DevOps engineers and subject
matter experts (SME) for achieving operational excellence
- Integrate and partner with other cross-functional engineering
teams to increase output and efficiency across the entire
engineering organizationExperience Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience, and a demonstrated track record in
software development, enterprise Cloud Infrastructure Services and
application support engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in leading teams of DevOPS and
production engineers.
- 10+ years of experience in architecting, design and planning
AWS Cloud Services platform
- 7+ years of software development or application engineering in
languages such as Python or Ruby or Go.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation,
Terraform, or other tools.
- Experience with architecting and automating cloud native
technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning
infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of PaaS and SaaS ecosystem.
- Experience analyzing workflows, delegating roles, implementing,
and tracking complex SaaS/Managed Hosting Projects.
- Architectural experience with microservices and distributed
applications, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless
technology.
- Experience building applications using Containers, Kubernetes
and serverless technologies.
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize
load balancing and horizontal scalability.
- Experience with Configuration Management platforms (e.g., Chef,
Puppet, Salt, or Ansible).
- Experience building and running applications using cloud native
services (ECS, EKS, Athena, Lambda, Redshift, EC2, S3 etc.) .
- Experience monitoring/Audit and Compliance of Public Cloud
Hosting platform.
- Experience implementing the Security strategy, governance,
compliance and risk management public cloud architecture.Other
