Our group is a vital part of Population Health and Care Management division of UHC Clinical Solutions business. We drive Product Management for critical business functions such as Population Health, Value Based Care, Quality Management and Care Management. - This leadership role will report to the Vice President of Product Management for the Clinical Business Technology Strategy group. The leader will be accountable for driving the modernization strategy for our critical business service technologies through micro-products that meet the market needs speedily with the goal of iterate, evolve, and mature over time. This leader will be part of a Clinical Product Management and User Experience team that drives the vision for clinical platforms that are central to several UHC priorities. Importantly, this team is critical to the achievement of UHC's affordability agenda which in turn helps make US Healthcare affordable. - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Quality Management (HEDIS, STARS, etc) as it relates to Clinical Data Management needs
  • Work with extended Product Management responsible for Quality Management to influence and drive the Clinical Data roadmap across various business systems
  • Accountable for direct and indirect staff to provide leadership, coaching and mentorship
  • Define the business case for new or enhanced product capabilities to ensure the proposed capabilities are aligned with the strategic and financial business goals
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and client requests for market needs that current products and capabilities do not meet; define user personas, write product requirements and use-case scenario, and create/maintain prioritized product backlogs
  • Work with engineering to conduct technology assessments and ensure that technical designs are aligned with industry trends and evolving market needs. Help drive solutions with the architecture teams
  • Monitor product releases to ensure high quality and on-time delivery, and coordinate launch activities to drive commercial success
  • Build strong working relationships across UHG to determine future product direction and assist in the successful design and launch of new capabilities
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Identify and recruit best talent for the product or portfolio of products Leadership Characteristics:

    • Knowledge of US and offshore talent sources would be a plus
    • Self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude, willing to demonstrate initiative
    • Develops innovative approaches

      • Bachelor's Degree in technical, business or health care related field
      • At least 8+ years of health care or IT business experience or related background with proven track record in product/program management
      • 6+ years or more strong SME Knowledge of one of the Healthcare areas like Quality, Utilization, Claims, etc.
      • 5+ years or more as a Product Manager with a niche focus on IT and healthcare
      • Proven consultation and relationship management skills at the technical and business leadership level Preferred Qualifications:
        • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
        • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and decision-making skills
        • Any formal training or certification

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
