ambitious, well-funded, and fast-paced early-stage biotech
start-up. Driven by a belief that disease diagnosis should be
quick, accurate, and accessible to all, Visby is developing a novel
diagnostic device platform that aims to redefine the way infectious
disease is tested and treated.SummaryWe seek a change agent that
has led a successful Lean transition in a highly collaborative
cross functional manufacturing environment. The Sr Continuous
Improvement Manager will understand how to transition an
organization from traditional methodologies to employ the Lean
philosophy through fact-based decisions which impact to the bottom
line. This position is responsible to lead the company initiative
to move towards a lean operations environment. Acts as a central
resource for lean manufacturing and assists with day-to-day
production support and improvements. A technical background
combined with product/management skills is needed. This position
will interact with all areas of the business but will initially
focus on manufacturing and supply chain Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination of Continuous Improvement (CI)
events, development and delivery of Lean and CI training material,
and generation of executive presentation materials
- Identification of key performance tracking metrics relating to
CI deployment.
- Drive transformational change at the value stream level while
sharing in the tactical implementation of Lean and CI best
practices.
- Facilitate, coach, counsel, and mentor the direction on
targeted improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for working with teams as tasked to enhance the
performance of processes and drive CI.
- Identify, facilitate, and support opportunities for process
improvement across the organization.
- Proactively facilitates high value improvement efforts in
functional disciplines and across business processes in support of
business strategic and operational plans.
- Serves as a technical content expert. Builds organizational
sustainability of process improvement knowledge and strategies in
the form of training and implementation of efficient business
processes.
- Partners with organizational leaders and front-line teams to
design and implement processes that utilize staff effectively,
enhance service and continuously improve the work environment.
- Facilitate cultural and strategic change across functional and
departmental boundaries.
- Reports to the SVP of Manufacturing and
OperationsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing,
Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7 - 10 years of hands-on experience in a lean manufacturing
environment
- Direct work experience with lean manufacturing techniques,
tools and capacity.
- Proven experience in risk and change management.
- Must be able to demonstrate of history of sustained results
(i.e., implementation has lasted at a site or in a group).
- Experience working in a manual and robotic assembly
manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with factory and facility layouts using CAD
- Proven ability to work, influence, and drive change/results at
all levels of an organization.
- Excellent leadership skills, including communication, change
management, coaching, team facilitation, and strong/proven
analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Willingly accepts a wide variety of task assignments.
- Excellent time management to achieve successful results.
- Has a passion for continuous improvement and achieving
excellence.
- Must be highly motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to analyze complex manufacturing data and propose
changes leading to higher efficiency and safety
- Must be able to demonstrate of history of sustained results
(i.e., implementation has lasted at a site or in a group).
- Training in Lean will have been learned through a reputable
source.
- A bias for action including a sense for thoughtful urgency to
drive continuous improvement.
- Highly hands-on and strong mechanical aptitude needed.
- Experience working in a medical device manufacturing
environment a plus.
