Our Technology Security and Compliance specialization team is the
place for you! We are looking for a thought leader with experience
in Technology Security and Compliance, Pre-Sales, Program
Management, working in regulated environments, who will help drive
expansion of Splunk products in regulated environments across the
public and private sectors.-- Reporting to the Director, Global
Interlock - Compliance, you work closely alongside the wider Sales
and Sales Engineering Leadership teams and various Internal Audit,
Product Management, Engineering, Splunk Global Security, Legal, and
Customer Success stakeholders.
You ensure our global Sales Engineering team's readiness,
strategies, and field execution is consistently aligned with our
customer needs and corporate strategy providing critical technology
feedback into the factory(?) where areas for improvement exist.--
- Do you understand the intricacies behind acronyms like FIPS
140-2, Common Criteria, FISMA, Section 508, GDPR, FedRAMP, HIPAA,
- Do you understand customer compliance needs and how software
products have to evolve in order to meet the requirements behind
these standards and frameworks?
- Do you have a working knowledge of big data, logging, and
analytics technologies, and understand how they fit together to
deliver concrete business value to customers in regulated

of working with auditors to get products, solutions, or services

- In close collaboration with the Director of Global Interlock -
Compliance, you will be responsible for successful technical
interlock and execution for Splunk's pre-sales field team.
- Contribute to prioritization, strategy, performance, and
development of the Technology Security and Compliance practice
across the Global Sales Engineering organization.
- Partner with the Customer Success Leaders, Product Management,
Internal Audit, Splunk Global Security, Legal, and Technical
Enablement teams to drive continuous field improvement.
- Deliver specific technology compliance projects and program
- Help define and iterate processes and procedures for developing
economies of scale across the global Technology Security and
Compliance Consulting Engineers team.
- Contribute to the efforts to build high impact communications
and collateral delivering scalable success.
- Ensure expertise and capability across SE (technical
readiness), providing recommendations to leadership on resourcing,
direction, and technical development to move the Technology
Security and Compliance Consulting Engineering team forward.
- Shape customer expectations and thoroughly align outcomes with
customer requirements while focusing on business value.
- Help in leading a matrixed team across Pre-Sales functions to
achieve the aforementioned goals.
- Provide input into the Field PM and broader PM organization to
influence the technical priorities of our product roadmap.
- Comfortable leading change, developing processes, implementing
procedures and working cross-functionally to achieve desired
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders,
including executive leadership across the Pre-Sales organization,
in a positive and effective manner to drive execution.
- Firm understanding of pre-sales business priorities and
practices in Sales Engineering with a strong preference given to
those leading a specialized/overlay function
- Experience in establishing a successful cross-functional team
- Strong analytical abilities to make data based and strategic
value driven business decisions, including the ability to make
reasoned decisions in the face of uncertainty or imperfect
- 5+ years experience working in regulated environments (e.g.
FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD, FDA, HIPAA, etc.)
- 5 + years proven technology security and compliance experience,
and expertise in compliance and certifications requirements for
frameworks such as FedRAMP, FIPS, FISMA, HIPAA, Common Criteria,
DoD RMF, etc.
- Ability to roll up your sleeves to get things done without
explicit direction and, as such, a meaningful experience with
Splunk products and strong technical background are highly
- Willing to work as part of a diverse team, taking mentorship
from multiple partners to achieve desired outcomes.
- Occasional travel may be required, especially to Washington,
- Bachelor's degree in the technical field of study such as
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Security Engineering, etc.
or substantial relevant on-the-job experience is required. Master's
degree is preferred.
- Relevant and industry recognized active professional security,
compliance, and technology certifications are strongly preferred
such as ISC 2 CISSP, ISC 2 CSSLP, ISACA CISM, ISACA CISA, ISC 2
CCSP, EC-Council CEH, etc.--
