possible. Ready to join us? About this opportunity Reporting to the
Global Head of Real Estate and Workplace Services, the Director of
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will establish and lead Align
Technology's global EHS program. As a highly collaborative leader,
they will create and implement a global EHS strategy which will
ensure a safe workplace, and compliance with all safety, health and
environmental regulations and policies. In addition, they will be a
key partner in developing and implementing EHS compliance and EHS
risk management processes. This role will initially be an
individual contributor. The EHS Director will also play a key
strategic role in support of corporate social responsibility
initiatives and work with the VP of CSR to ensure programs align
with our corporate social responsibility charter. In this role, you
- As a global leaders, they will create and establish strategic
EHS plans which will include championing, maintaining and
communicating the company EHS policies and programs to assure that
they are current and appropriate for global, regional and local
- Will lead, establish, maintain, and oversee global
environmental program to include compliance to any reporting
- Keep current on industry and regulatory updates to ensure
compliance with Federal, State and Local regulatory
- Work with plant safety committees to ensure compliance to
corporate safety policies and practices.
- Conduct workplace inspections with safety team members at each
location to promote a safe work environment.
- Evaluate and determine needs for industrial hygiene, fire
protection and safety products.
- Define safety committee meeting agendas.
- Review for approval, all new material data sheets.
- Maintain record keeping requirements of EPA, OSHA, and other
pertinent compliance matters.
- Conduct site visit/audits for any applicable site/plant
- Mentor associates with EHS responsibilities at global sites and
provide input to performance appraisals form these associates.
- Responsible for driving EHS performance improvement, mentor and
motivate managers, Sr. Managers and in larger regionals, Directors
within a matrix global team.
- Success in this role is highly dependent on the ability to
collaborate and develop great working relationships with BU leads,
manufacturing and R&D teams, and with government agency
representatives. In this role, you'll need ---
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 10+ years of
- EHS-related licenses, certifications and/or membership in EHS
professional associations are desired.
- Six plus years managing people in matrix organization in
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to
successfully multi task; Very good attention to detail and
deadlines; Well organized
- EH&S experience in medical device/industry at a global
- Must have basic knowledge of blow molding and injection
- OSHA 10 & 30 training a plus
- Knowledge of GRI standards as well as experience/ knowledge of
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Greenhouse Gas emissions
calculations and target setting methodology. Experience driving
