Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an IT Director for a Full Time assignment with one of our premier Utilities clients in San Jose, CA.Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with business leads and develop strategies to implement various IT solutions effectively
• Develop, where missing, technology standards and ensure compliance (SOX, InfoSec, etc.,) for the business objectives
• Administer effective delivery of all IT projects within appropriate budget and timeframe
• Partner with ITS leadership and business departments to contribute to Technology budget planning process in their state
• Key contributor to National IT Strategic Plan based on business requirements and strategic needs
• Evaluate current systems and technology and recommend modifications, replacement, or elimination to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
• Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and initiate appropriate decisions for various technologies
• Where appropriate, support the upgrade process for company software
• Monitor ITS teams within organization and ensure compliance to work standards
• Manage ITS partnerships where applicable including service delivery, cost, inventory, and contract terms
• Focus on the use of analytics software to drive data-driven decisions at the executive level
• Monitor everyday work of organization and provide managerial and technical support to all activities
• Responsible for maintenance, licensure and purchase of all information technology software systems aligned with business objectives in their state
• Analyze business objectives and recommend solutions to IT investments including creating business plans and ROI studies to ensure return on solutions
• Responsible for maximizing uptime and stability of systems
• Collaborate with business leads to hone-in on technology needs and recommend game plans to improve
• Utilize standardized prioritization process to ensure the delivery balance of large impact items and quick efficiency gains
• Effectively lead teams of IT professionals by providing guidance, mentorship, learning opportunities as well as daily and strategic direction
• Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization
• Foster an environment of collaboration and development
• Live out all core values and guiding principles
• Other duties as assigned Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field
  • Extensive hands on experience in the design, development and implementation of IT systems
  • Seven plus years of progressive and related experience leading productive IT teams
  • Ability to think strategically and work tactically
  • Hardware/Software Vendor negotiation experience
  • Experience managing IT Vendors and relationship management
  • An enthusiasm for continuous learning
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Great written and oral communication skills
