Please review the job details below.Maxar is currently seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to join our team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the Configuration Management (CM) activities for a program or project, taking responsibility for resources, tools, processes, training while ensuring the delivery of a coordinated Configuration Management approach across the entire product lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesComplete a range of configuration and documentation tasks within the committed cost, schedule, performance and qualityImplements the Configuration Management system for the project/productProvide technical leadership for CM activities to the program teams, as well as functional managementEnsure consistency of information in the configuration management system for the project / productMaintain and develop CM processes and procedures to ensure best team practice applicationLiaise with engineering disciplines to ensure consistency on CM practices and effective use of toolsIdentify and recommend appropriate CM training for Space Programs Delivery (SPD) teamManage and maintain cost-effective data management practices in line with company guidelinesManage the implementation of the Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) system for configuration management of the project/product. This includes analysis of requirements, system configuration, customization, data loading and end-user trainingLiaises SPD personnel involved in the project as well as with subcontractors/suppliers regarding project CM related issuesCollaborate with all stakeholders and provides technical leadership to resolve configuration management issues during product and project lifecyclesPartner with the engineering departments to provide advice and guidance for the adoption of new processesMinimum Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent residentBachelor---s degree in related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degreeMinimum of 2 years of Configuration Management processes, techniques and toolsComprehensive experience with product lifecycle management concepts beginning from conceptual designs through end of life of hardware and software products with practical experience implementing and administering PLM systemsData analysis capability to identify and address discrepancies with large data setsAbility to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, with various teams including engineers and supply chain personnelTeam player, with strong communication skillsGood written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teamsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of PLM (TeamCenter) and (SAP) ERP and MES systems would be an advantageActive U.S. Government security clearance or the ability and willingness to obtainCMII certificationAbility to interpret engineering drawings and Creo ModelsMaxar Technologies values diversity in the workplace and is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
