Cobham Electronic Systems, in San Jose, CA is currently seeking an
ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION ENGINEER working dayshift with
the option of a 9/80 schedule to support the site.
Role will be responsible for implementing advanced manufacturing
technology and automation. Role will work with employees,
suppliers, and customers on improvement projects to modernize the
factory. Perform the research, design the solution and implement
the improvement to automate or semi- automate processes. This will
also include the transformation/conversion of manual paperwork to
electronic data in the factory. Also, includes supporting
continuous improvement projects as a facilitator or in analyzing
data, and supporting the site management track performance metrics
to ensure local goals are met, consistent with lean and six-sigma
* Establish and manage project schedule, work with team to develop
technical requirements and select suppliers. Develop equipment
specifications. Implement equipment.
* Working solely or on a team to help the factory on its journey to
utilize current technology, automate processes and procedures,
program PLC s. Projects would include taking existing industry
standard automation and applying to our factory.
* Assist in day-to-day activities supporting Key Performance
Indicators data gathering and reporting to management, Monthly
Operations Report, and Operations Meeting preparation
* BS degree in materials, mechanical, computer science or
electrical engineering is required.
* 2 years experience in manufacturing environment
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel,
* Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with
employees at all levels of the organization from Production to
Management, both verbally and in writing, including preparing
